You would to have to trawl through the various immigration / nationality acts to determine the nationality of the child. It is a rather complicated issue depending on the parents status at the time of birth.
The child may be British but could be a British Subject not a full Brit Cit. there are numerous classifications that can be put into a British passport.

Thing is this is just labours pattern to screw over the british people. right from 1947 when attlee was pm and gave away india. to 1968 when willson was pm and gave away mauritius to tony blare in 1999 and tried to give scotland and wales away. Even brown sold off government public buildings. In Fact the only labour pm that hasnt given anything away was callaghan however he tried to give away the faulklands but the winter of discontent put a stop to that.
