Political discussions...

Sage words. Considering the source and the subject this’ll put a few here into a tail spin.

We back in the 70s and 80s could be physically thrown around and out by the teachers (if they were hard enough) We could be caned by the headmaster. And we could be expelled. And as for what our own parents did to us back home that pales in comparision.

Sure covid made a difference, but the rot existed well before then. Some of my comrades  are school teachers and I’ve heard the stories of deteriorating discipline since the 90s let alone 2020. And again it comes partly down to Thatcher’s legacy of No Society. And she despite been the party of law and order started the run down of the plod service and the prison service and the court system. (labour just continued with the madness)

But it’s also, as mentioned in the article, down to the scourge of the Social Influencer. They, whether the type we now mean, else earlier the footballers, the pop and rap singers, the local drug dealing scum or whoever, they’ve all presented this easy way out and up for the disaffected kid.

And the kids have been disaffected for decades, well for ever. Back in my days, autism was reserved for the seriously non verbal and difficult to help child, not it’s a spectrum. ADHD was only just arriving but was for the most disruptive kid who did most the aggro. Dyslexia was assumed to be lack of intelligence rather than a brain issue.

Thousands of kids each year effectively left school written off already. 1980s the start of massive unemployment which back then meant the usual breadwinner, the man was out of work so a whole family was on the dole and only just surviving. Hardly surprising then with the lack of genuine and moral leadership, that future parents had behavioural issues, that then get passed directly to the kids. i.e. kids simply don’t get taught to respect and be nice. And who can blame them when the leaders don’t behave and play nice either.

Move on a few years and remove the final lines in the sand, some sort of law and order including the borstal system, now there is little penalty to behaving badly. TV shows make fun of been bad. Influencers make it into a money making career option. Thatcher and her minions have really screwed the UK over and we are reaping the cost now of that decay.

Systems like a country have massive inertia, it takes time for weakness and decay to really show, and then it will take time for any effort to repair the damage, to work. And the current popularity sound bite political system makes that worse because a party tries a new way, but they only get 4 or 5 years to show positive results, when it realistically needs 15 to 20 years to show sustained benefits.

why is it the lefties keep blaming the issues on people in power 40 years ago. They havent learnt that the issues that were created then (if they were) could of been fixed by the next government but they double down on them.

The issues caused in todays society are a simple reaction to the special treatment we have given the scum that has infested britain. Not allowed to speak out against it for fear of being branded a racist. They can do what they like and get rewarded for it then the native children see it and emulate it and you end up where you are.

This really is an effin farce.
She should never have been put in jail in the first place…and why is she STILL in?
What purpose does it serve?
Community service would have been sufficient
Or she would have learned her lesson in the first few days…if Starmer wanted to show how he won’t stand for any hurty words against illegal immigrant scum and/or Moslems, in his lefty policies, the first few days would be adequate for a ‘‘short sharp shock’’.

Is she going to come out and offend? …murder someone?..a threat to society?
Of course not.

In the meantime more deserving cases walk free… presumably because her and others like her are taking up the prison places.

Also people who have been otherwise banged to rights on clear video evidence of GBH on the Police in a highly sensitive environment (Manchester Airport) have not been even on trial yet
Obviously not as important as crimes committed by Starmer’s ‘‘Far Right’’.
SO out of touch with public opinion… it’s unreal.

not listened to a single word eh.

I said. Problems like respect in society and basic fundamental good behaviour, are problems that grow deep over time. They’re an invasive plant that spreads not only by seeds, but also by rhizomes underground. And once established take an inordinate amount of effort to root out again, requiring constant weeding over many years. My kid’s generation are almost OK, just about, but even then they lack some of the nous that our generation takes for granted. They’re not used to quite the same levels of self support, regulation and effort. And their kids in turn have even less backbone and common sense.

We are indeed ducked, if we needed to go to war, not just because, YES the cuts maggie made to the armed services which YES, labour haven’t reversed. But also because the youngsters now who traditionally are the cannon fodder, they’re too bleeding soft.
Yes some are as hard as nails, well they act like it when they’re holding the knife, not so sure if the other guy was holding the knife though if they’d know how to defend themselves.

It will take time, more than one parliament, to fix the problems that maggie started in the 1980s. All the infrastructure i.e. the youth centres that have closed. Schools massively cutting back on after school clubs so they can focus on getting the best GCSE results to remain high on the league tables so that they can maintain enough funding. Rather than all schools been funded to the level they need to bring kids up to the highest levels they are capable of.

All the sports fields that have been sold to build housing on. Roads that are too dangerous to cycle on. As kids we could cycle for hours around the North East. Even the A1 wasn’t as dangerous then, as some urban roads are now for cyclists. We were fit enough to cycle 40 miles and more, then go to school on monday and play sports, and still concentrate for maths and science etc. Then again we had better food, less fast food.

Our country is ducked, not because of the migrants, though the additional demand on services doesn’t help, but because of the deep down divisions remaining from thatcher’s war on the working class. The sudden decimation of the coal mines, the failure to support our shipbuilding and other engineering. The rise of the yuppie whose strength was blather and spin.

The problem we need to fix is the divide between the richest and the poorest. Then amazingly the problems with immigration will fix themselves. If all jobs paid a living wage, enough to buy a house and have a reasonable standard of living, then there’d be no shortage of carers, cleaners, warehouse and shelf stackers, fruit and veg pickers. Which would mean less excuse and reason for importing loads of migrant workers.

A strong country is naturally resistant to disease like a strong body. We’re weak which makes us ripe for takeover, all the firms been sold to the yanks and abroad. The sooner the rst of yous wake up and realise the true struggle has always between the rich and the poor, the better. But the rich control the media and by jiggling around with everything from sport to social media, they also influence the influencers too. So yous swallow the bilge about how ALL your problems are the fault of the migrants, not the rich taking all the profit.

Shock horror, I actually agree. ! ! ! ! I don’t mean she should have been ignored and allowed to repeat or make false claims that result in others doing illegal acts, but the sentence I agree was wholly disproportionate. Unfortunately that is the system we’re in. Whether new labour, any tory or reform, they’d all use prison as a shock and awe tactic to force compliance. Trust me, I’ve been banging on about all sorts of political and legal issues over the last 40 plus years. The recent changes to law making everything from living in a tent, to protesting on a road, into a serious criminal offence attracting up to 5 years, is wrong.

It’s a means to stifle debate and protest. Funny though how when it’s used against any group you don’t agree with, you applaud it’s use, its’s only when it’s used against someone you support, that you condemn the use of law. And again, my favourite topic pops her ugly screeching head back up. Thatcher used the fullest extent of the law to crush the miners. That was when we needed to fight back against the use of criminal law as a political tool against political protest. Labour have just carried on with earlier tory changes. Don’t forget Mr Cooper, labour still haven’t been in power for a year yet. You’re complaining about less than a year’s of legalisation versus over ten years immediately prior.

Wow!
What a shocker eh?
Terrorists…and this time suspected spies coming over here on boats pretending to be asylum seeking refugeess.
Who’d have thought it?
And it MUST be right, not GBN this time …but the actual BBC

I’m just pleased (and relieved) that our Prime Minister is going to ‘‘Smash the Gangs’’ to prevent this happening again, or worse where some absolute terrorist atrocity could take place in our country because of it.

NOBODY could have predicted anything like this.
Thank goodness our government is giving this illegal immigrant scenario it’s utmost priority eh?

whilst Tories in power, and they where after Iranian subjects according to the report. But the one big question, why didn’t the security services discover them earlier?

The ‘security services’ have 100s of these type of characters on their watch list.
If people from hostile areas and usually hostile cultures are being let in willy nilly, in fact welcomed and helped in,.with no background checks,.well of course many are going to get through the net undetected.

Here’s a couple of deterrents (jokes) that will have the lib leftys clutching their jewels.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Just thought …I hope that does not qualify me for 30 months in jail.…after all, they are a bit '‘hurty’ .

Here’s more rhetoric b/s from Labour.

So how will Deform stop the boats? Criminals will always find ways around, regardless of who is in charge. Not defending them but imho this will carry on . True this type of migration needs to be curbed, reduced or stopped.

I don’t know I aint a spokesman for them.

What I do know is they are the only party making the right noises to endeavour to solve the problem.

I also know Labour have no intention of sorting it properly, it is in their political make up and DNA to accept this sort of crap.

I do also know the Tories made a pig’s arse of it all, although to be fair they came up with and funded a scheme that was never given a chance.

I also know that Reform could hardly do any worse thsn these 2 useless parties…a reduction would do for starters.

Btw …Come on Andy, I’ve always had you down as one of the level headed and intelligent on here
‘‘Deform’’ is up there with Wolfies ‘‘Twumpy Wumpy’’’ and Franglais’s ‘‘Putain’’..you are better than that.
mate.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’ll ignore that
Anyway.
Watch this, doesn’t he look so young in it, must have been a while ago before he went to prison.

maybe because the offences they have been charged with were commited between 2024 and this year,

The three men are charged with committing offences under the National Security Act between 2024 and this year. They were arrested two weeks ago.

so the real reason if the services both police special branch etc were working so hard under labour why has it taken 5 months to arrest them under labour

These criminal gangs are making a fortune from the crossings at £420,000 per trip, the dinghies are imported from China to be shipped to Turkey for onward transportation through Europe to France.

The PM attended a meeting in Germany to discuss ways to disrupt the supply chain when the lorries transiting Germany may be carrying engines and dinghies.

It would be impossible to stop every lorry, the equivalent of our DVSA enforcement in Germany used to be called BAG, they are now called BALM would be working alongside the police.

Even if they set up mobile X ray machines at the border as France has been using these machines since the early 1990’s in the form of what looks like a mobile crane, it would cause traffic chaos and long backlogs.

The alternative is a permanent X ray scanner building that each truck could pass through quickly, it takes time to analyse the grainy images as the engines and dinghies could be hidden in the load, or the engines broken down in to smaller components.

Due to more enhanced security and scrutiny in the French ports by using heart beat monitors to inspect the trailer by inserting a probe in the side of trailer without the need to break the seal of the trailer and stomp all over the cargo to look for clandestine, the favoured method is using boats instead of hiding inside trailers.

CO2 monitors are used to detect breathing and dogs to sniff them out.

Any trace of urine or faeces found in the trailer will mean the cargo will have to be destroyed which can cost money depending on the load especially for food and drink imported goods, a full load of champagne or perfume could be a million pounds.

The UK government can now snoop around Apple I phones in the UK.

cobblers sorry. The us had this argument with them and they were told to go forth and multiply.
