Political discussions...

Just as the media do not show hours of football fans when fans who watch matches peacefully, and do not show millions of cars driving along without having accidents.

Is it a conspiracy to hide events? Were TV crews excluded from areas?

Or did the 2 minute slot have a choice between a peaceful protest and a violent one? Which video would they broadcast?

Peaceful protests are not big news.

Kin unbelievable.:joy:
You never fail to deliver.
Either in your Comical Ali persona or that of an apologist for the govt and/or it’s favoured media.
Calling you a joke no longer has any impact, it is now taken for granted on this forum and particularly on this thread.

Btw stick to subjects ( you THINK) you are an authority on…football violence is pretty rare these days…we aint in the 70s.

the other snake in the grass is Anthony Esan who stabbed the soilder in Gillingham last july. That has all died a death apart for himself, wife and family of course.

He was supposed to stand trial on the 20th jan but end of december they delayed it to the 1st of april. It has been delayed again till the 6th of may because of this gits mental health and then its only to see if he is fit for trial and set a possible trial date.

flipping unbelievable.

It could be down to the editing editor in the tv studios who decided what the public get to see or not.

Decided at a higher level, the program editors only follow orders and soon get booted if they fail to. That’s why to the keen studious observer of aunty beeb, the flavour seems to change on a sunday each week. During the week the middle and upper executive are always in their office so the news has to follow the corporation line. But on a sunday typically, junior managers are the only ones around, so sometimes stories appear that show a different bias. Then those stories get “updated” monday morning.

We can agree that most media do pander to their intended catchment area. The torygraph love anti leftish stories, the socialist worker news loves anti tory stories. And The Ferret publishes stories about how many ferrets a man can stuff down his trousers.
It’s the typical daily heil reader who lacks any much world awareness and takes absolutely everything that trash rag prints as gospel, even when it changes a year later.

another engineer / doctor

Rob it would be more accurate to call those ‘lefty liberals’ Communists.

What you have said is exactly right, the flavour of broadcast changes to who is around at the time and depends on what day of the week it is.

My main annoyance with the BBC is when they pre warn the audience that what they about to broadcast may be unsuitable for a younger audience, upsetting or we may find it disturbing.

I will decide that myself without them telling me what I can see and what I can’t see.

They should be showing the true reality of war, including death and serious injuries and not wrap the nation up in cotton wool to make a population of softies who get offended by everything then complain to Offcom.

Yes. If warned you can decide to carry on and listen as most of us will.
For those who have recently had issues then they can decide to carry on, or decide to exit.

It is a way for those who may have just lost someone to avoid further upset for a while. And of course those who may be listening with younger kids around they can chose to listen later.
(OK in cars many kids are plugged into their machines, but the warning is there)

The horrors should be there, but you should not be ambushed by them in your home or car.

That’s a fair point.

Rightly so imo.
I don’t want my little girls hearing about something like the Southport terrorist atrocity of girls the same age being butchered at a dance class similar to the one they attend…

So at least if something like that is about to be discussed, and you are warned you can prevent them from seeing it and being distressed.

I’m a big believer in letting kids be kids for as long as possible and protecting them and their innocence.

Fair point about the kids, as for the adult audience we seem to get protected too much.

Ok I’m with you there…but that’s all part of the bed wetting liberal left nanny state protecting their snow flakes and drama queens.

As John Cleese said in a BBC interview on this…
‘‘If you choose to be offended, please go and do it somewhere quietly on your own,.and leave the rest of us alone’’
Wise words.

Well said Rob, on some tickets for an audience that’s over 18 years old, it says if you are easily offended don’t come to the comedy event and stay at home.

Another one is a sign I saw on a pub by a picturesque canal that displays the menu, I love the owners sense of humour for the part on the choice of breakfast where it indicates no food items can be swapped and if you don’t like what we serve throw it to a passing cat or dog.

Kids and their innocence eh well that struck a chord, way back our eldest daughter at 14 had confided in her mum that she had a boyfriend so I got instructions " you’d better be having a word" okay went to her bedroom " we need to have a chat about the birds and the bees" the reply was " what do you want know dad" she’ll be 67 this year and we still have a laugh about it.

Oh Jeez daughters and boyfriends
My Mrs used to accuse me of scaring them off, she didn’t appreciate my reply of…‘‘Well that’s the idea’’.:joy:

The daftest thing I did was storming into a pub like Jason Statham single handed looking for a certain person who wasnt there…but all his mates were.
Anyway I managed to front it out ok, and they passed on my ‘‘message’’…apparentlly as he stopped coming around…

Turned out ok though,.my eldest girls partner is a great lad, and we get on well, sometimes watching the football in the pub.

The other one another good lad, the Dad of 2 of my grandkids, but they have sadly seperated although me and him still keep in touch.

But they had to ‘kiss a lot of frogs’'…(or f/wits as I prefered to call them :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:) before they got the right lads.
I still keep my eye on my youngest who seperated though.

news article from the bbc last week. Asylum accommodation costs set to triple, says National Audit Office - BBC News

of course its full of lefty whinging about how it isnt their fault and how the dog got out because the kids left the door open etc etc. However, there are some interesting tit bits hidden in the whining.

the national audit office is saying asylum housing will now cost 15.3 Billion thats over 41.9 million a day.

they are also crying because the number of asylum claimants has risen from 47,000 in dec 2019 to 110,000 in dec 2024 and how its all the conservatives fault. well heres the thing ducky there have been 23,544 illegals between july and dec 2024 so there were 86,456 when labour took over. That works out an average of 1,601 per month for 4.5 years as apposed to 3,924 per month since labour took over. more than double.

so here’s a free hint for you mrs cooper quit crying about how unfair life is and what you inherited and deal with it properly

so starmers excuse for giving the french 540+ million was that they couldnt police the beaches and the surrounding areas. proven according to him by the bbc when they sent a reporter over when that child drowned and with in a few hours they had seen hundereds.

540+ million later its the same sob story

I can’t see why instead of paying the French a penny for a job they have no interest in doing, that Starmer does not make some sort of deal for the UK to ‘‘police’’ the beaches,.and use that money as a sweetner…
Either the Army…armed, which would may actually…‘‘Smash the gangs’’, or a private security firm (unfortunately unarmed this time) consisting of ‘‘handy’’ type lads, maybe even ex Forces…along the lines of those ex military lads dealing with the Somali Pirates…one of whom I know, …more than capable.

At least then those ‘‘policing’’ the beaches will actually have an actual interest and a motive for doing so.

However the whinging Lefties (those who usually have the final say) would not be suited, because it would more than likely actually stop these ■■■■ s coming over.
