Polishing the lorry

kitbuilder123:
I polish mine, inside and out, every chance I get. Yes it’s not mine but I am the only driver so I look after it. Polishing the outside every so often makes it easier to wash.
The only excuse for a dirty lorry is laziness.

For those saying it’s not there truck, why should I bla bla, would you apply the same to a home you were renting? It’s not mine I’m not cleaning it?
I spend a lot of time in the lorry, I’m the only one who drives it,I like cleanliness, therefore, I clean the lorry.
Don’t see how it’s an issue really.

We don’t think its an issue, its a cry for help…

Muckaway:
Kind of hard not to drive through muddy puddles on tippers though NMM. Never left footprints on the dash either, so why people think I should take my boots off I’ll never know.
I couldn’t care less if my cab “isn’t as polished as the older ones” (as an ex colleague put it) it’s a works vehicle, a tool for the job and not an ornament on the mantlepiece.
I also drive a JCB that’s not even a year old, should I polish the cab on that too?

In your line of work a dirty exterior is to be expected, but in the example I gave we weren’t driving tippers. The night man went out of his way to mess up the lorry the other bloke had washed and that is not on.

That was how your post came across, you especially like to put your dirty boots on a dash that someone has polished.

To me that sounds a bit childish.

He’d have a stroke if he drove tippers. So would his boss if he fannied about like that.

They pay for bits and bobs ( nothing too fancy, light bar alloy wheels) I look after them , simple it reflects on me to look after the kit that pays the bills .

QICKNIFF …A bloke down at my local,he is a hgv driver told the lads that he noticed that the drivers with the bling–lights, bars, trims etc.when they were kids had no nice things,so when they got older they tried to make up for their deprived childhood by getting lots of the silly rubbish. He said that they think that the more bling you have the better the trucker you look…
