How long before this thread vanishes aswell? Surely the mods should delete the relevent quotes rather than the whole thread! Off to bed and no doubt as said this thread will do a paul daniels by tea time!
Why are some people up in arms about this new practise
by the police in the UK, Firstly be thankful that they are not yet
operateing like the german police ,In unmarked mobile carvans
coaches or van,s ,and THEN please try looking at it this way
if they manage to stop one accident and save lives etc etc
then it is worth it & ROG as for the costs stuff that it is
the end result which counts saving lives , It has been running in Germany
for a far few years and the amount of accidents has decreased
and this is a fact so for those who believe it is just another
cash cow sorry you are completely wrong,
brit pete:
ROG as for the costs stuff that it is the end result which counts saving lives
newmercman:
That’s the thing, this isn’t about safety, it’s the same as the ‘safety’ cameras, they’re all about generating revenue![]()
ROG:
Would the amount of revenue obtained from this be enough to cover the running costs
If it doesn’t then the argument for such fails…
If it does then there must be a lot of drivers breaking the rules out there !!
As you can see Pete, I was saying that revenue was NOT the primary remit but SAFETY is - for the same reasons that you stated
