Whatās the problem with having your posts deleted? If the modās deem something to be crap, it getās binned.
Or are you a special member? Dry your eyes & get a grip ffs.
Just so that everybody is clear about this pointā¦

Yes, this is allowed. Itās allowed because it demonstrates quite clearly that the modās are fair and unbiased, and ALL members will be treated the same regardless of length of membership or otherwise.
I have no problem with the moderation of this site. If you donāt trust the modās, thatās one thing.
But crying on here openly is frankly embarrassing mate
re, original post.
I thought any vehicle 3.5 tonne and over parked outwith town limits, on the carriageway or layby which is part of carriageway and wasnāt lit was an offence. If the advertising trailers are hgv trailers then find the owner, report them to the traffic commissioner, who can revoke their operating license. If they are abandoned then impound them or get a scrappy to take them away.
Most laybys today arenāt fit for purpose. They donāt allow hgvs to park far enough away from the live lanes. Thatās why they drive up on the kerbs or verge⦠to get as far away from the live traffic as possible.

Good point. (Hence my reference to chewing up grass verges)
I was heading up from Kent to Ipswich yesterday evening knowing Iād have to park up for the night on the way. I got onto the A12 from the M25 after leaving the Dartford crossing at around 4pm. I didnāt think too much of parking and didnāt really see any mobile advertisements in the laybys. Too be honest it wasnāt as busy as I was expecting and had ample opportunity to pull over.
I had a fair bit of driving time left and managed to make it to Witham before I was thinking about parking. I turned off and got onto the eastways industrial estate and parked by the rail line which I thought was a decent place to park, there were 4 or 5 other drivers parked there too.
Over the past year or so this forum has been infested with trolls, so much so that itās no surprise that a new member with the username EssexTrafficSgt creates suspicion in some minds. Admin has failed to control the trolling and the multiple accounts and therefore given the ātrollhuntersā free rein. The site is now a mess, rudderless, lacking direction, over-reacting to minor indiscretions whilst overlooking, even glossing over, blatant trolling and generally inappropriate posts.
Itās got to the point whereby it doesnāt matter if the op is a troll or not, he just blends in with the general malaise.

The problem with ebās post is it is too close to the bone for some. Truth hurts . . .

Wise man speaks. Start listening and accepting folksā¦
Then just maybe things might change.
My 2 cents is the OP isnt a troll and anyone who still bangs on about it is basically being a muppet.
Hes posted openly to the mods/admin to email him on his police email and I have no doubt they would respond if that were false so that is proof enough for me, as it should for anyone else.
Although dork lord banging on about trolling with the manner at which he conducts himself is deliciously ironic if nothing else!
I also find it a bit pathetic that every other thread on here has it claimed that truckers are seen as the scum of the earth and no one wants them, just the goods, and that the police are only interested in nicking them for revenue raising and then when someone posts who is in a position to help he gets basically hounded off the forum.
I understand the suspicion (I was one of them at first) but the guys first reply was enough to satisfy he wasnt trolling.
So well done. Remember this the next time youāre moaning about lay bys being full and cant find a parking space.

Robroy, please understand that I donāt want to comment on or criticise other officers or areas (nor will I defend them) as judging from some the responses on here I could be quoted in any complaint, I would say though that we donāt have the time or officers now to try and cay ch criminals in the act as we donāt have enough to get to every emergency call in time.Iāll be honest, my while experience here really has been more trouble than itās worth and had I known I would have has all of this I would never have posted. It seems you have had issues with trolls on this site but thatās not my fault and although using my personal email would have been easier and allowed better separation, I used my @essex.pnn.police.uk address (which I needed to access to confirm registration and whiich canf ne faked) to show I was genuine.
Iāll give it a couple more days as suggested above to see if I can get a few more sensible responses then be off the site, thank you for your help and leave you to it
Ok mate, I see why you donāt want to make things awkward for yourself tbf, especially if you have superiors on your case on this forum.
However I can not see how anyone would not be contemptious towards the copper who carried out the case I mentionā¦ie ticketing a line of trucks in order to discourage parking, so as to avoid the toe rags robbing trucks in future, and attempting to catch themā¦(or the lowest common denominator in ā ā ā ā poor policing, and dirty tricks as I would prefer to call it. )
I have to pull you up on your explanation about not having enough officers, as there miraculously always seems to be enough officers to sit in a camera van all day on roads that are relatively safe to travel at high speeds on (seldom low traffic capacity villages like mine) or knobtwonks like PC Nairn and his cronies posing around in a tractor unit on āāMars Bar Policeāā duty. ā¦but thatās another argument for another day.
As for the thread subjectā¦as Beaver says, who in their right minds wants to overnight in lay bys 4 to 5 nights a week anyway? ā¦certainly not me even though I have tramped for 30+ years, so it doesnāt concern me personally.
On the other hand mate, (and Iām not ā ā ā ā ā ā ā up your back here btw like one or two ) you DO have my respect for setting yourself up on a Truckerās site with all the flak that can, and will, bring.
I personally do hope you donāt knock it on the head, if only to try and redress the balance of poor opinions of the Police, admittedlly shared by me for the reason I pointed out to you and many others over the years.
Cheers.

I dont think anyone has been pxxxxing up his back Rob, rather just using a cordial manner, something that seems in short supply these days. Some seem to mistake being cordial as a weakness or pugnacious as a quality.
Iāve had some poor experiences of relying on the Police and some positive but I am able to objectively recognise that these experiences have nothing to do with this individual and are also incidental to what was asked.
Was thinking of putting an advert for myself in a layby, on a big mobile hording, thinking twice about it now

I know what you mean, I had a post drafted about the dangers of trying to get in a tight one when approaching to fast or the risk of someone going in your back doors if entering to slow.
A good point though, since the demise of phone boxes where can ladies who offer truckers some temporary companionship advertise.
Oh and where are you tonight⦠ā ā
