I can only apologise for my previousness, it appears in my rush for some companionship I have spoke out of turn. I look forward to looking into your ‘conglomerate’ at a future date.
Regarding laybys perhaps on upon their initial conception some thought could be taken into the width of the bloody things as the narrow ones are not only unfit for purpose but a bloody danger to society.
Lighting the laybys would also be a good idea to deter the diesel fairy’s a bit, also help Chloe find my truck as last night I ended up with Colin by mistake. Quite good company to be fair.
‘‘Also help Chloe find my truck as last night… ect ?’’…’ OMG another layby faux-pas !!! We need to ‘have a word’ behind your truck about these presumptuous ■■■ bits of yours. We could possibly look at my mobile advertising conglomerate if the situations right (but not the Essex end of the M25 lol) !
Ps like the double facepalm Mr Win … I do so many of them in a working day

Since you’ve clearly much to discuss, why don’t you two take (whatever you’re on about) to PMs?
EssexTrafficSgt:
I am a Road Policing Sgt with Essex Police
Great. When are you going to start fining drivers for parking under bridges on the M25 ?
Why does it bother you exactly, is it that you would want to park there?..I’m bloody sure I wouldn’t.
Those guys don’t matter a crap to me as it has [zb] all to do with me.
There is more important crap about this job that concerns me more.
Firstly its dangerous (and many park without lights) as sometimes a car will take avoiding action for something ahead like debris, or a vehicle braking and swerve onto the hard shoulder not expecting a lorry to be there - we have seen this very thing and when the car saw several units there he tried to swerve back and hit the bull nose of the barrier, with severe injuries.
Secondly, it blocks the emergency route for us - when the motorway is blocked up due to a large accident or other incident, we will frequently see 30-40 of you (because it is often UK trucks of all companies so likely to be some of the members on here) meaning we can’t sail past everyone to get to the incident and actually clear/deal with it - the same applies to Highways and recovery trucks who can’t squeeze through gaps we can so this problem (which includes one or two parking under a bridge for tacho break) adds to the delays.
Most EE drivers parked up that I have seen are on msa slip roads, illegal maybe, but can’t see how it is a danger in real world terms.
It makes me laugh how the Police always blame their lack of actual policing on resources, then when you see them having their famous ‘purges’ (btw always traffic related these ‘purges’ you never hear of a ‘purge’ on burglaries or truck crime ) on driving while drinking coffee or Operation whatever tf they call it when they pull trucks in, there are no end of resources.
I counted 30 coppers one day in a checkpoint …30 !
I know it aint you personally mate, but the Police’s priorities are all wrong…end of.
Dave…I hope I’m not included in your apology as everything I have said is accurate.
The Police bring all this flak on themselves by examples such as I have used, and constantly so.
Me and you are usually on the same wavelength on most things on here mate, but not this time, so please don’t apologise for me.
Winseer:
Great. When are you going to start fining drivers for parking under bridges on the M25 ?
Hear Hear. Gets on my ■■■■ that, when you see cop cars driving straight past in lane 4 doing over a ton, whilst successive bridges have each got a johnny foreigner or three parked underneath:
As Robroy earlier posted, why does it bother you? I have two main criteria in my life; “does it impact on my life in either a positive or negative way?” If the answer to either is no then I ignore it. Life is way too short and vastly way too precious to worry about things that affect me in no way whatsoever.
This, a hundred times this. We all have enough going on in our own lives to worry about without wasting energy on nonsense like this
[/quote]
It’s not “perps getting away with it” that bothers me. It’s the police seemingly having something more important to be getting on with, that somehow never amounts to actually being seen do be doing a lot, when apparently rushing around doing “other stuff”.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Hard Shoulder impacts involving halted police cars are on the rise as well.
I’m aiming at constructive criticism here:
“If the public were more aware of exactly what the police vehicles were up to at any point, there would be a lot less impacts between those same police, and members of the public”.
So… Be it a rushing past police car, ignoring blatant law-breaking at the roadside for “something more important”…
OR…
Gantry signs slowing the traffic down to an unrealistically slow speed (eg. 4 lanes down to 30mph on a clear road) only to be four lanes clear at the next set of gantries.
If you can’t trust the information - people are going to start getting complacent about that very same information.
I always get over for red 'x’s, but others are already ignoring them.
I am aware of a crackdown in play - but the public are still doing it.
The same applies to trucks parked illegally.
BIG local crackdown as per the OP - but where it it being continued in such a manner that all truckers everywhere won’t risk it any more?
Presence, Presence, Presence.
I’m as keen as anyone to see the phrase “Where are the police when you actually call them” into the history books.
If the police are not going to start employing officers to act more like the public expects police to behave, and less like liberal politically-correct wets that the establishment expects police to behave - then we’re going to need a hell of a lot more of them, either way!

Apart from maybe ‘‘helping’’ to perpetuate the crap and lack of overnight tramper parking facilities.
Fill every ■■■■ lay by up in the country with billboards for all I care, then there will be no option to park in these unsuitable unfit for purpose ■■■■ holes, and then, maybe, just maybe… then we will be provided with proper 21 century fit for humans parking facilities.
If he really wanted to ‘‘help’’, then why not try and instigate one of their famous ‘‘purges’’ on truck crime and diesel theft…, but we all know that the criteria for said purges, prioritise on how much revenue can be raised, so that would be a non starter.
Some of you should get real and take the blinkers off I reckon.

Er? He didn’t ask that did he? Again, all mouths no ears. There’s no point moaning at him about why drivers should sleep in lay-bys?? Talk about ranting to the open air. Take that to the employers, or people who approve and build truck parking, councillors, MPs, industry press. Not a lone copper.

Hi robroy,
My apology related to empty vessels Rob, and you’re defo not in their league.
I agree that the police bring some criticism upon themselves, but the empty vessels just don’t seem to realise that they’re not having a conversation with the higher-ups who actually make policy.
It’s hardly fair and very short sighted of them to have a go at somebody who is doing their job in the way that their boss wants it done.
It’s a bit like a driver getting it in the neck from a customer when it’s the actions/orders of an idiot TM/planner that’s really to blame, we’ve all been there!!
EssexTrafficSgt:
We do, frequently, however as with most other moans about us if someone like you doesn’t see us do it, i.e. passing in the 20-30mins it takes then they assume we don’t do it. Its the same for people moaning they never see Police cars patrolling their area - unless they happen to look at the window in the minute we are passing their house they assume we are never there.
Also, when dealing with these we usually tuck in close at the front, to the nearside and without lights as we want to be subtle so as not to warn any others who pull in behind for a break meaning we get a 2 for 1 deal
We are well aware its a problem which is why all the multi-language metal signs went up at great expense, to support our enforcement and prevent the “i didn’t know” excuse. We then use a VERY expensive telephone interpreter service for any foreign drivers and it takes 2 times as long as dealing with an English speaker but still quite simple and we still do it, the only difference being if they don’t have a UK address they have to pay on the spot (usually £100=3pts but can be £30 only if they have only just stopped, or more if there are other infringements) and if they don’t have a valid card (or can’t get one from a boss) we take them to a cash machine or clamp them at J31 services until they can pay, with an additional £80 on top.
The bridge at the top of the hill coming from J27 on the A track towards J28 (known as ‘Skinners’) is a common one and I have before had 5 at once - there were 3 in a row so I parked at the front and started at the back, in the time it took to deal with the 3 (plus payments and interpreters) another 2 had joined the party)
The main issue with all of this goes back to not being enough of us to patrol the motorways as we used to, with time to deal with these - usually we only see them when on our way to a RTC or other job (which won’t necessarily be on blue lights as it might be pressing, so we don’t have time to stop but not urgent enough for a blue light run.
Interesting replies, thank you for taking the time. As former NOMS personal, I had to deal with the aftermath of your handiwork!
I do have one bug bear though, always have. Doing stupid things on the motorway is dangerous, I don’t think anyone on here would argue that. But you state that you try and be discrete when dealing with bridge parkers. Surely, if it’s so dangerous, you’d leave your lights on to disuade others rather than wait until it’s too late and then ticket them? The same approach is taken to speeding. Catch them in the act than send them letter three days later rather than trying to deter them. I know you have an issue with resources, but a more visible presence on our roads would surely have a bigger impact on safety than a “ticketfest”?
I know I’ve gone a bit off topic, but this is a rare opportunity.

If I went on ‘Kent Nimby Neighbourhoodwatchnet’ as a trucker, asking what time they all went to bed so I could be sure not to disturb their sleep, by promising not to blow my airhorns in my ‘‘Thundering Juggernaut’’ … I would expect to get stick.
Mainly because many inept truckers parking up outside their houses and churning up their grass in wt limit villages, and all the rest of the grievances, and by us doing more damage there than The Luftwaffe, has made us about as popular as scabies.
I would expect a copper coming on here among truckers, would maybe expect a similar type welcome…what do you reckon.
I could take it on the chin being a big boy, as I’m sure this copper can, and is, so I wouldn’t be so concerned about hurting his feelings, and at least my posts were constructive, not to mention more tactful than some others
Thanks for your concern btw, but my common sense is in abundance thanks mate.

I know what you are saying, but as I said I’m sure this guy knew he would set himself up as a target, and again I did actually say previously on another post, that I respected him for having the balls to do so.
eagerbeaver:
Why is it every time you lot get criticised you wheel out the same wheelbarrow of crap?
Police cuts…
The reason the flip flops park under bridges is because you cannot be arsed to do anything about it. I’ve personally witnessed cops going past them on more than one occasion. Must have been on their way to a job…
It’s also been mentioned on here about diesel theft. Fat lot of good a crime reference number is when you’ve had a screwdriver through your tanks.
Pointless contacting you lot for anything, you never turn up. Yet you come on here asking for help
There is clearly no reasoning with you - to try and put it in an example you may understand how about you lose 15-20% of your drivers but are expected to deliver more loads? If you can take the chip off your shoulder and have a sensible conversation (preferably without the ‘flip flop’ comments) then I’ll try and answer any points as I have others.
I appreciate this has gone off topic, however other than a few helpful comments, for which I am grateful, the topic seems to have changed to I am either a troll (yet not actually doing anything trolls do), or I am in fact who I say I am so cue lots of moans about Police - to be honest life is too short, I knew I would get all the Daily Mail comments but really didn’t expect it to be so overwhelmingly negative - I was genuinely trying to help but life it too short for all of this so i’ll answer any posts after this over the weekend to allow for any Mon-Fri drivers who may actually contribiute then politely withdraw.
You don’t need to wait until the weekend to hear from any Mon-Fri drivers.
I am one Poirot Good use of your very pressed police time though fella, spending an hour on here…
And if I want to refer to somebody as a ’ flip flop ', (or any other description) I will. Didn’t realise you ran this site You might be better off sorting out your spelling too, it’s garbage

No problem Rob.
I respect EssexTrafficSgt too.
For my 2p worth, and having realised that the police we see are constrained from quite a number of angles, IMHO they do their best under some very challenging circumstances.
The other thing that the empty vessels don’t seem to realise is that the police have to enforce the law as it is written, they don’t write it in the first place.
The bit I really don’t get is that EssexTrafficSgt has come on here to look for a way to deal with an issue that we can all relate to, but has been harangued with completely unconnected stuff that has nothing to do with the original premise of this topic.

He is here to help himself. ONE company has ignored his " ticketfest " according to the OP.
So he has decided that court action is required because one particular company does not give a toss about his tickets. Thrown all his toys out of the pram and come on here asking for us to help with supporting evidence
Do it yourself copper, that’s WHAT I PAY YOU TO DO.

Hi EB,
Let’s just see whether I’ve understood… do you mean a company who has broken some law by leaving advertising trailers illegally blocking places in lay-byes that a truck driver could otherwise legally use?
eagerbeaver:

Let’s see what’s at issue here… there’s a possibility that a company who is breaking the law and has ignored tickets can be subject to enforcement action by due process, which might include some background/supporting information gleaned from posters on TN.
Personally speaking, I thought that’s what we pay the police/courts to do, so I can’t see any problems with that.

Still respecting your view, I can’t help but notice that it looks a little isolated.
