Police Crackdown

■■■■ me, this old chestnut again. At least this time the old bill have had the sense to follow it up with, IMHO, propaganda.

I hope you all learn from this children. How dare you answer the nice officer back when he/she is telling you how things really are. Remember these magnificent civil servants are most likely ex forces and as such will be above mere civvies to start with.

Most of you get much further afield than the hotbed of crime that is Suffolk and see much more horrific ■■■■ on a daily basis but your experience counts for nought. Now accept the bollocking and go about your business.

Oh how brave I am being cheeky on a “Lorry Drivers” forum, while displaying a photo and contact details. Good job I’m clean as a whistle and enjoy what passes for free speech.

I’d like to be a fly on the wall when the senior bods at Force HQ get to hear about this exchange.

Regular police bloggers have been warned off posting, i doubt this little lot is approved content.

Roadsrat made none of his, de facto public office programmed, smart ■■■ replies to all the posts on this thread, he and his automaton ilk happily collected £7,680.00p from hard working lorry drivers for not wearing seat belts, that in a lorry at best have the functionality of an ash tray on a motorcycle, and is equally content to witness the fact that bus passengers do not have to wear them, most often in vehicles of equal weight and size of a lorry, with no ill effects upon the millions of passengers per day, and to think that you as lorry drivers are ever going to be the benificaries of common sense when doing 50mph on a single carriageway, in the middle of nowhere, whilst being witnessed by one of these ‘regulation junky’ automatons is the height of stupidity.

I call for police to stop “picking” on lorry drivers. I cannot see how they can “Target” hard working people - Tongue in cheek

I call for police to “target” car drivers, who are also driven by people who are hard working - Can you see any difference here?

I take phil’s “Targetting” comment to mean not singling out minorities and merely nicking any offender.

Anyway, this whole “Mr Mackay in a Magnum” routine only has a limited shelf life. Smart phones are fitted with cameras both sides now as well as GPS. One little change of legislation will gift these fine “CIVIL SERVANTS” with a snitch in every cab, car and bedroom.

All this ■■■■ is merely conditioning you for what’s to come. Even Constable Roadrat will likely be aware of the coming raft of treats that lay in wait, only a little way ahead.

Wearing seatbelts in a truck is law.

Not really news worthy though without a few mobile phone users and, I suggest, only a handful of real dangerous drivers.

Look at it more closely folks and see for yourselves.

Create the image that we’re all out of control “Killer juggernaut drivers” and watch the new powers come in.

Hth.

Just remember kiddies do as the nice policeman tells ya or else you might end up in the back of his nice warm plod car and have some money liberated from yer wallet , i mean someones got pay for the diesel so they can drive round filming us from unmarked wagons

Warning the lorry driving community not to create an image of ‘‘killer juggernaut drivers’’ is a tad late, its an image that the state carved out and has feasted upon for decades, such a profit yealding image isn’t something that the state is going to drop any time yet, I find it bizarre that anyone would believe that lorry drivers not wearing seat belts could help contribute to form an impression in the eyes of the public of ‘killer juggernaut drivers’, how many people stare into lorries to look to see if the driver is wearing a seat belt, is it a pastime I’ve not been made aware of?, I would imagine lorries exceeding speed limits is more inclined to reinforce negative images.
The seat belt law for lorries is just opportunistic money grabbing by the state, can no-one see the hypocrisy of a driver of a heavy lorry getting a ticket from a cop on a motorcycle for not wearing a seat belt?, all that the ‘‘I obey’’ legions have acheived is gifting the state with the date on the calendar being 1984, where the state has held it for the past 29 years, what you and the ‘I obey’ legions support is something that previous generations had to fight to defend themselves from, Orwell wrote ‘1984’ as a warning, not as a manual.

Sod me but i agree with every word of that.

Must be millions of good men and true turn in their graves, died in their millions doing their duty as they saw it to defend the freedoms of our land, and for what?

Wagon drivers not wearing a seatbelt won’t create the desired backlash we speak of on it’s own. The waters need to be muddied by including genuine dangerous ■■■■■ that really should be taken off the road and the number of hoods using mobiles while driving, again not something I can take seriously given existing laws of DD and DWDCaA.

Add these figures up, put em in the mass media, stir with Murdochs big spoon and voila.

I’ve skimmed through this and if I’m reading it right (and I have been drinking) A copper has come on a trucker forum and is shocked to be getting the flying ■■■■ taken out of him.
And yet we are the stupid ones. Move on son!!

I fully expected it, that’s why I joined!

That’s his problem he hasn’t come out that’s what lured him to a life of lustrous moustaches, shiny uniforms and mostly working in close proximity to other males. Unfortunately the repressed feelings manifest themselves as an obsession with trivia like seatbelt wearing and minor speeding offences.

Well I did spend 20 odd years in the military previously!

Own Account Driver, when are you coming out? You seem very well informed. You’re amongst friends here, they’ll understand!

Angus? Is it really you?

No, its not Angus. Sorry.

I knew you’d be disappointed! You’ll have to continue “knocking one out” over that photo of Angus.

I guess this is what is meant by Policing in the community

I would get on a forum too if I was a Peeler and scared of arresting real criminals

Yet another keyboard warrior on Trucknet - Gotta love em!

I’ll say it again just in case you missed it the countless other times I’ve said it, the police don’t make the laws. They only enforce them as per the instructions from upstairs.

And actively encouraging it. A troll, and not a very good one.And an even worse example of a police officer if,indeed you are one - which I severely doubt. I hope people soon stop taking you seriously, because you’re not doing the constabulary any favours.

Well I did spend 20 odd years in the military previously!

Text book. Improves credence among the great unwashed and looks great on “Stormtroopers with cameras”.

I’m unsure whether you’re attempting to widen the gulf between tax payers or build even better relations with them.

Could even be Big Vern’s latest wind up incarnation :bulb:

Whether members on here think you’re a tool or not, you’ve certainly made an entrance.

Btw, are you the friendly one that gave me a Murray mint on a windy night on the Orwell bridge after my car conked out or the other one that cost me £150 to use your contracted recovery as the AA were gonna take half hour longer?
