Three idiots threw 16kg heavy block of ice from the bridge over the motorway into the windscreen of the truck, the driver lost control and died in the accident.
They were caught. The judge found them guilty of causing heavy injuries and causing death by accident, as they claimed “they were just having fun”. Defence argued, that “if it happened 0.8 second earlier of later nobody would die” and they were sentenced to 4, 5 and 6 years in jail (sentences vary as for some it was not the first troubles with law). After hearing the sentence they exchanged smiles and winked to each other.
Public is outraged by the bland sentence, I personally also think that it is well too low…
Definitely way too lenient in my book, I recall someone threw a brick off a bridge on the M3 and killing the Fords driver, an ex colleague of mine. Don,t know if anyone was caught for that

Remember it well, it was when i was a teenager. I knew who it was and they were caught and sent down.
The human race has a massive problem.

The drivers name was mickey little he was hit in the chest if i remember causing massive damage and a heart attack,he was still able to bring the truck to the hard shoulder,i do recall someone being charged but cant remember what sentence they recieved.

Shockingly lenient, or should I say, typically lenient.
they have appealed and the Appeal court came to the same conclusion. The case is back in regular court, but they are now treated not for attempting to cause harm, but for attempting manslaughter.
Sub culture , almost sub human, and yes i remember the Northants incident well as linked to in NMM’s post.
You just know what the children of these semi apes will turn out like, they’ll find an equally useless apparent loud mouthed female of a breedable gutter strain that no self respecting man would touch with a barge pole, and produce another generation of scum, and on it goes, downhill all the way.

So the system works. Sort of.
Part of the problem is that people are charged with the wrong offence. These ■■■■■ were charged with causing death by accident and not attempted murder. Years ago a guy in a car ran over a little girl in Exeter and she died. The driver was charged with careless driving and was sentenced to the maximum allowed. Something like 6 points and a £1000 fine. If he had been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, he would have had a much more fitting sentence.

But perhaps he was charged with careless driving because that was what he had done, maybe not driving dangerously but simply carelessly.
Using an extreme example, if someone working at a nuclear power station pressed the wrong button by mistake and wiped out half a city, would he be guilty of mass murder or simply making a mistake?
People are judged on what the do, not by what the results are.
