A mini cruise that at the end of it you dont want to get off,good food for drivers a cinema,swimming pool on top deck,sunbsthe on deck,a free lecture on whale spotting but the bay of biscsy gets rough all year so take sea sick pills,once parked up take all the ticket buts as you will need it for the meal discounts,nightclub with singer or live musuc or a comedian.
That on the freight ship

Great craic! Dancing, drinking, eating and occasionally fisticuffs. A great British night out that always ends in a few people blowing lunch as she starts rolling around the high seas. You’ll love it.
Yes mixed with freight and tourists and make a note of where you park as it is easy to forget which deck and side of the ship it is and plenty of time to sleep as feel like driving for 22 hours when you come off,the cabins are clean and crisp white bed linen and hace to share with four drivers or pay for a cabin alone.
Leave the uniform in the cab you will never grab a granny wearing a greased stained hi viz and a good chance to pull a bird when they sre a bit drunk.
Advanced warning if the ship is rammed with school coaches the darlings run around the decks all night and you can hear the dull thumping in the cabin i call petite elephants or small elephants on a wild stampede the crew will tannoy the teachers to controll them but they never do as they are letting their hair down in the bar or trying to get a leg over.

What the above like ?
I went that route in the late 90’s it was a brilliant voyage, amazing ship and as it’s already been mentioned ‘You don’t want to get off’ 
Used to be a cracking crossing. Sails around lunch time and docks 24hours later.
Board, spot of lunch in exclusive driver facilities, couple of beers and maybe a movie, hour on the bed, shower, evening meal and a few beers in evening watching the caberet, lie on the next morning before breakfast and a few cups of tea before disembarking around noon. What’s not to like?.
Always found it a much nicer crossing than the 36 hour Pompey-Bilbao. Only advantage to that one was that it had a bar in the exclusive drivers lounge. In peak season the main bars were mobbed and you could always retire to the drivers area for a quite pint. Well at least it was quiet until some ■■■ started on about " just missing the herald on his way back from china".

The best of all the boats to be honest. Even though its brittany ferries its by far the better route when comparing it to Bilbao. Not been on it in a few years though so it could have all changed by then, plus im basing my viewpoints on having to race the John Mann lads to the bar on the Bilbao crossing.
Does anyone know if you can leave the docks say go to town then return back? Or have you gotta say here with your truck?
