plonker

going along the A69 from carlisle and get to the bit past the shell garage where it goes down the hill towards th speed camera when i catch an argos decker, he must be heavy cos hes way slow but we start heading down the hill and he keeps at 30-35 and left indicates to say come past, errm how about no its double whites pal just get a move on. so were now down the hill on the straight bit along the railway track and he slows right down this time to 25 left indicates again forcing me to overtake on the centre hatchings what an absolute plonker ther is a lay bye half a mile up the road that he could have used if he wanted to let people pass

May have had a problem with the truck and was trying to get it to a safe stopping place.

i thought the same until he went right past the empty layby

Dear me 2 professional drivers(ahem) on 2 different threads being forced into overtaking by other vehicles■■?

It really does prove how standards are dropping these days when drivers come on a public forum ranting and raving about other drivers being plonkers when it is obvious they are as well.

Forward planning and anticipation may stop the plonkers but I doubt it.

Why do you let bad driving affect your life? you seem to have a big problem with it, which is always stated in your post every time you post

no one said you had to read them
i was just saying what happened or is this forum for something different??

First of all it does not effect my life mickey but it is just appalling that truck drivers standards have dropped so much and now we have drivers coming on here and admitting how they cannot handle a simple situation.

No I do not have to read it but is that not what forums are for kevin?

You put your point over the best you can…

And people like myself give their opinion on it…

Or have I got it wrong? Please enlighten me…

not at all but the point i was trying to get across was the fact he was indicating that it was clear to pass when he knows fine well im not allowed to overtake

kevinm1984:

Enlighten me to how he has forced you to overtake.
You took this decision on your own the thread title reads as more of a self confession.

This may come as a shock but the driver may have been unfamiliar with the area and half a mile up the road used the layby you mentioned but felt the need to slow to 25 due to either a brake issue or personal problem you where unaware of.

In the good old days we used to help each other out and would even follow them to the layby and even ask if they where OK.

(Typically self righteous rambling)

Cut the cack can someone define Plonker!

Dipper_Dave:

+1

Did he lean out of his window and wave a pistol at you whilst doing 25mph and indicating left?

I think what you meant to say is that he invited you to overtake… and you accepted his invitation, even though you knew it was wrong.

Naughty boy. Go and sit on the step and think about what you’ve done.

Come on then muckaway.Lets hear your expert opinion on the situation instead of a typical mickey like reply!

If you think I am talking gibberish at least have the decency to explain why… :unamused:

as ive already stated before but maybe you never read it he drove past the lay bye once a good few of us had passed him. he was fine when i looked at him as i passed, ok maybe he never forced me “per say” to over take but as i said he was slowing to eventually 25 so yeah maybe i should have just sat there behind him as i never had anywhere to be

gosh i never knew guys could be so bitchy maybe u should turn your computer off and go watch a chick flick or something
