Pity

Most women I know like a man’s company.

After 6 months of marriage and a quick divorce, they usually get half of it.

Beaver, I love you! I cant stop laughing! :stuck_out_tongue:

Be careful, or he will become green goddess status

Thought they were old army fire engines?

Flaming insult. Anyway G, now I am a budding TV star, I will expect groupons.

Errm…I meant groupies. 20% off Papa Johns is no good to me.

Well, it was sort of a compliment, as underhand compliments go.

I have a 50% off voucher for dominoes if that will do

You know what Goldilox. I like you.

Damned shame though about that trouble with the bears. Who cares who sleeps in your bed?

Kind offer Ash, thanks mate. There is a Dominoes around here somewhere, cant quite remember.

I’ve drawn a blank.

It’s the morning after when it all kicks off, beaver :stuck_out_tongue:

I think we can establish it’s your poor cat by the looks of it, DD

Blimey, it’s like The Animals of Farthing Wood in here at times

Peter Smythe:
Point missed - probably deliberately! Trainers on here spend a fair bit of time sharing expertise and giving advice - totally free. Personally I spend a substantial amount of time on a daily basis responding to pm’s in order to help folks. And these people who have got problems are often mid-training with other providers - so clearly not going to be a customer of mine.

My point is that, having given the help, advice and encouragement (often privately) it would be gracious of them to mention that they’ve actually passed their test - especially with a clean sheet. The trainer sometimes isn’t mentioned and that is not the be all and end all. The same applies when folks get their first job - it’s brilliant to share the news.

It’s just that, in a world of doom and gloom, good news is always welcome.

Pete

I like fire and I believe in weird values so lets burn…

Trainer Nr.: 1 who is TruckNet member, gets “banned - ok not banned, told off…” from forum for fraudulent posts and tries to promote his company, revealed by Admins via Ip address checks few month ago on separate post…
Trainer Nr.: 2 who is TruckNet member, accidently send text - sms message spams to all people who contact Scania Training just few days after they contact Scania with slightly underquoting Scania Training price on text messages…
Trainer Nr.: 3 who is TruckNet member - sponsor, makes post asking to give him positive reviews…

Logic, moral - amoral De-liberate… liberate…

Human beings are human beings - in all fields - either they are bank managers causing crysis or bad drivers or … trainers… in any position, profession some % will be very nasty human beings… humans just have to try to filter them and make smart decisions sometimes wrong sometimes right but decisions are made by facts and logic chemistry in brains…

Oh and I didn"t even mention Wallace trainers doing “training” in Kensington and Chelsea area… and those dodgy old white DAFs and MANs with knocked off corners boxes and mirrors “training people” in Park Royal… in some cases “cashing in” and “training” goes hand in hand…

I understand that life is tough and there might be some very very good trainer - human being who can only afford old truck and tries hard to make living but tries to give to his student all the best he can with his good heart and old truck thant he looks after like his baby, and so on and so on… but… it’s not always the case… and I don’t think it is especially in Central London… wilth many schools broker scams and big guys like wallace…

Clearly some of that is aimed squarely at me, equally clearly by someone who doesn’t know me or the way I operate.

Looking at the OP below I see no request for a review of any kind though I’m happy to receive all honest reviews. I don’t go begging for them. I tried to make it clear that I thought that it was a bit odd that folks who had made numerous posts on here hadn’t finished the story with a pass - let alone clean sheet. And twice in a week just seemed doubly odd.

[/It’s always good to hear of folks passing tests. Brilliant in fact. But I think it’s a pity when we’ve had a week like last week where we’ve achieved 3 clean sheet passes, 2 of them from Trucknetters, and they haven’t let the world know of their success.

I understand that some people are private by nature but it would be good to encourage others to take the plunge.

Clearly no trainer minds being associated with this sort of success either, but that truthfully isn’t my motivation for this little ramble.

Maybe ROG should develop some special fireworks for the clean sheeters!

All the best to all training and testing this week, Pete  :laughing:quote]

As a company we don’t advertise apart from our presence on internet. We rely on recommendation so it’s obviously good to get it. In a world where the purchasing decision is normally based on price, we have to get the message out that not all training is the same. Very few in the UK (about 6 commercial organisations) are actually accredited by DVSA to deliver LGV training. It’s not easy to get that and it comes with substantial cost to provide the facilities that have to be provided. So we’re never going to be the cheapest, but we’re a long way from the higher rates of some. It’s to do with value and quality IMO.

I resent being placed in a post with those accused of poor practice so feel this little rant is totally justified.

If anyone wants to have a pop you’ll find I’m more than a little defensive of my reputation. Tried looking for a poor review?

In the meantime, I continue to be happy to help folks by pm and publicly on the forum as well as discounting all our training to Trucknet users. But fire bullets and expect return fire!!

Pete

Don’t take it too personaly…

You’re right I don’t know you, I just know what I see and this “Pity” article felt a bit veird for me so said what I think - how it looks for me…

I’m not saying that you are Bad Trainer, I just said that in my opinion some approach was not “gentlemen style” approach but yes there are many more expensive and many scammers etc… so it should just be healthy to post what I’ve seen and how all this Training industry looks for me, maybe this view might help some new guys and so on…

Take it easy, fire is healthy…

Still don’t understand what I’ve done that isn’t “gentleman style”. And I don’t apologise for taking it personally.

Pete

I’m by no means a clean sheet example of passing my test, but one of the reasons I don’t feel encouraged to post anything on here, including my successes is the sexist and racist comments on this forum. It’s not exactly a welcoming atmosphere for a newbie.

Sorry you have felt like this ok not been around as much of late   but I have been on these forums a long time I was also a newbie here I am also female & have never felt like you have said in your post

I have worked in the industry for nearly 20years now yes there are some comments at times but learn to deal with them in your own way just don’t react to them

“Pity”?

Peter people can read between the lines, some of us are drivers, some of us have trained with other providers, those training providers, do a job and teach people the way to handle and drive a hgv, they don’t bum and brag about accredited driving centers, sponsor Web forums, look for people to take to a forum to drum up business! They do what there paid to do and get on with it! I’m sure the 2 members thanked whom ever trained them shook there hand and went about there business and rightly so, job done! If I was one of them reading this id be offended by the post!
Do yourself a favour Peter and stop with the daft “look at me” posts and topics

Wtf! :open_mouth:

Since when has Peter Smythe been up for criticism, he’s been nothing but helpful and courteous to all us newbies so I’m rightfully gonna back his corner. He’s passionate about what he does and he’s more passionate about someone passing. I think you need to redirect your comments to the trolls and HGV haters on here that moan about the job and everything else.
