why do you need to worry about a police officer ‘sneaking up’ on you?
personally, i couldn’t care less, this is because if i do something wrong and get caught, it’s my stupid fault

I don’t mind plod doing his job, but if it takes three cops and two vehicles to catch a driver eating a sandwich or drinking a coffee, all I can think is, they must be desperate because it is costing somebody more in providing this service than what they rake back in… I wonder who pays for it all ■■? …

Well,
This reminds me when back in my serving days I was stood on parade. A few of our senior NCO’s were receiving their good conduct and long service medals. A young sapper asked what’s it all about and our troopy replied “these are the ones who kept their noses clean for 15 years” etc etc. I hastily replied “no sir they made sure they had fun and never got caught out!”. Funnily enough I found myself on extra duties for the following week.
If you are going to do something “naughty”…just make sure you don’t get caught imo.

The one thing that really annoys me about this truck is that they could do what they are doing and for every truck they pull they could catch 20 cars or vans

They have motorway cars for that , they cant chase cars in a truck , even a city rover would get away limiter or not , although I suppose they could ram a car .
it’s enforcement via media, its on the telly, in the papers,it’s on forums like this and everyone smartens up their driving …for a while. plods happy, job done!
They’ll put their new toy back in the garage next week, and it’ll be collecting dust for the next 6 months.

Really can’t see why everyone on here is so worried about the police truck, it’s there for a bloody good reason to catch the idiots that drive along with laptops etc watching DVDs or reading books or cooking meals or whatever other stupid things people do and if you in to all that then you deserve everything you get.
Who can honestly say they have been done for having a drink of coffee? the only reason people get done for minor things is that the police have observed them driving erratically not because there drinking or eating a chocolate bar but because there driving without due care and attention
