For god knows how many years drivers have been restricted to 56mph this in my eyes can be dangerous for a host of reasons but also slows down the UK economy by causing late deliveries ,with Brexit upon us we need faster business growth so all round there is a need to remove 56mph restrictions PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION AND CHECK YOUR EMAIL TO ENSURE FULLY SIGNED THANKS MARK .
Bad planning causes late deliveries, another 4 mph won’t help you

They’d never lift it to 70 from 60. And no boss would want that, seeing as the truck would then struggle to hit 6mpg
No. Daftest thing I’ve heard in ages. How many workers in other industries petition the government so they can work faster.
Ageing, generally unfit and overweight drivers doing 70+mph with 44tons?
Frightening.

Another troll!!
I don’t want to go any faster thanks as I’m quite happy with 56, just give me a truck that does 56 and registers an overspeed at 60!
Unfortunately due to the quality of driving and sheer stupidity of a minority (and I’m being kind) of HGV drivers 70mph would not be a good idea.
All you will see is nose to tail HGVs in the middle lane of motorways and outer lane of dual carriageways, like cars each one wanting to go that little bit faster.
It’s more likely overtaking restrictions are placed on HGVs than any speed increase.
Only drivers like myself who have experienced unrestricted HGV travel should have 70mph available to them

Well i came across an accident on wednesday 2 trailers 1 overtaking and back end clipped the other ,me reckons a bit more throttle and it may not of happened plus 14 mph over 8 hours could make a huge difference in a country so small also i reckons if Merkel , Tusk and Juncker want to remove our free trade Theresa May could shock them with a suggestion that British transport moving at 70mph will be speeding up the British economy .A driver could theoretically drive an exra 100 - 112 miles per working day â– â– 8 hours @ 56mph = 448 miles
8 hours at 70 mph = 560 miles so either way it could cut driver hours down and also prevent some drivers having to go into a second days driving and could deter some drivers breaking other taco laws and rules , obviously my opinion is only going to appeal to British drivers and i dont expect any Euro drivers to be in agreement although when driving in Britain maybe we should make European drivers drive under EU legislation therefor strenghening our Brexit position lol.

Ill thought out, poorly planned, badly presented. And people wonder why nobody ever listens to the working class in this country? Plank…

Is Theresa May going to get on to Scania Volvo MAN DAF Renault to get the trucks re-engineered so that they are designed to run at 70mph all the time?

How would allowing them BOTH to go quicker change anything?
Other than the potential of a worse incident/accident…

+1
I wouldn’t want to do 70 fully loaded anyway. When I’m up to 26 or 32 ton it feels like I’m driving a tanker with no baffles in it. Just give me a tacho that doesn’t go mental at 58

What an idiotic idea, nothing to do with the economy etc etc, just an excuse to speed
