Personal Load

I got a mountain bike from a scrapyard I visited the other day. No room in the trailer, but managed to get it in the cab.

What’s the biggest personal load anyone has managed to move without the boss finding out■■?

I put a tailgate in the trailer
Or did have a 50” tv on my bunk in a rigid

Plenty of alloys, silly expensive inlet manifold, 2.9 VR6 engine block, front wing etc you get the gist. A garage full of car parts.

20 x 4 metre 3x2 lengths of timber from a wood yard in Lancashire to Norfolk. Got them for 20 quid so wasn’t going miss the chance of getting them at that price.

52 cases of…

Biere and 30 sleeves of B&H.

All manner of unnecessary bits and bobs off ebay but reckon I’II win with a Smart car for my daughter. Couldn’t quite squeeze it in the cab so it went in the back. Loaded it with the Moffett which drew quite an audience in the cul-de-sac on a summer’s evening.

300 slate tiles in back of a 40ft container and another one was a motorbike in back of wagon and drag with a tail lift on

That’s gotta be a good effort.
I don’t think a car transporter carrying a bigger car should count as beating that.

Unfortunately not. Sold the whole shebang job lot to a nice man with readies to hand in the West Midlands.

A horse in south wales .

I can do one of the smallest.Baby song thrush that had fallen out of its nest somewhere over head in the loading bay roof at Charlton depot and I found it sitting helpless between the trailer axles wheels when doing my checks. The bank staff found a small box to put it in and I kept it with me during the trunk to Nuneaton then back to Charlton then Feltham and then dropped it off at the Leatherhead wild animal rescue centre in the morning on my way home after my shift. The last I heard from them it was doing fine.

Contents of my house when I moved from London to Chesterfield in 1999. Best boss I ever had.

Box upon box of various flavoured crisps and porridge oats!

All neatly stacked on the top and bottom bunk to get plenty in! :sunglasses:

There was still 26 pallets of them in the back…

And they all go to landfill, if you can’t ‘liberate’ them! :open_mouth:

Happens VERY often too…… :unamused:

Whilst I was at United Transport I done a demount box weekend trunk change over from my depot at Hoddesdon To Smiths yard, London Rd, Glasgow, asked the TM if I could take a drag trailer with empty box and pick up the contents of my house on the way back as we had just sold it after we had moved down south, he asked where I was collecting from & I told him Stranraer, he said as its just of the A74 that would be fine and as long as I was back ready to work Monday morning on time, had quite a busy weekend and completed the move, never ever mentioned to the TM that it is a tad further then just off the A74, and for a Davie bonus I got paid for it less about £30 for diesel I put in to keep the fuel about right

Dave…

Taking an old three-piece suite and garden waste to the tip with the works van back in my yardman days. Gaffer didn’t mind. :grimacing:

Set of alloy wheels bought off eBay a few years ago.
Last year I collected and dropped off at a friends garage a large Halfords 3 piece tool chest with the works van.
