Personal Accident At Alconbury T/S Help Required

What on earth is this “probable cause in front of a jury” nonsense? “Probable Cause” is an American legal term and has literally no place in English Law. If this case was to go to court in this country, it wouldn’t go anywhere near a jury anyway.

I hope the OP is on the mend and will soon be able to get back driving, I think you will have your work cut out for a claim, you drove in to the site in a lorry and missed the blue concrete because you saw it, then you exit the lorry and fall over it because you didn’t see it. If you win this one let us all know the name of your solicitor.

Sorry about that, don’t know why I said that. I’m half way through a John grisham novel which may explain it. I just meant the he might struggle to have case against company based on evidence he acquires. Just my opinion!

I retract my statement your honour.

One of our drivers today stepped back off the truck ramp and into a rabbit hole …he is now off work til next week and currently walking/hobbling around Bedfordshire with a torch searching for said rabbit, gotta be worth a claim surely :■■?::■■?: this country has gone to a very dark place :imp::evil:

This post is a wind up lads, wake up.
People dont fall over a kerb painted blue and try and claim compo.

Do you■■? I ■■■■■■’ don’t… If he can’t move in a fuel station without falling over something that’s 1/2 the size of an average adult, I don’t want him driving a truck on the same road as me :open_mouth:

My truck is blue, yet I dont have any trouble walking near, past or climbing in to it, which is strange considering it doesn’t have warning signs telling me its a truck and to be careful in its vicinity. Seriously though, this all sounds a bit too silly. I strongly suspect its a wind up, if its not, our society really has reached new depths of stupidity acceptance of stupidity if any claim of this nature would even be submitted, let alone accepted. No, its just too far fetched. No one trips over those big blue pyramids unless they’ve wondered off without their guide dog.

Get your advisor’s to take some photos :unamused: :unamused:

Thanks again for your replies guys, just to clarify a few points some of you brought up, yes I know and always do climb out backwards holding the grab rails, I have been driving coaches, buses, and HGV’s for a long time, I am 61 years old now and don’t need lessons on how to avoid accidents, at the time I fell over that bloody wall, I was shocked, bleeding from a gash on my elbow and slightly disorientated, but I cleaned up my blood, and continued to fill up before climbing back into the cab and drove on for the next two days of work in extreme pain. I didn’t get up and consider who to sue, as some of you may suspect. and it was only the severe pain I was suffering made me go to hospital. I am not of the "where there’s a blame, there’s a claim culture. I have lots of scars gained through accidents with broken steps and loading/ unloading trucks, luggage from the boots of coaches and scars on my shins slipping going upstairs on wet and icy bus floors and suffering concussion for three days after going onto a bus to change the CCTV, which at the time the ops. mngr. found quite funny. And I am quite clear on the H&S side as a transport manager/consultant who likes to keep his hand in.

Why you claiming now then?

Wrong on both counts there by the sound of it.

Please elaborate…not from a blame and claim society but you fall over a wall painted blue that you can see from an aeroplane that has taken off from Gatwick yet now you ARE wanting to claim and so everyone’s future policies will go up. I think I am just about to walk into a trailer and say I didn’t see it then see if I can claim for whiplash and headache. I think the consensus is go spec savers!!!

What about humpty dumpty, did he get a pay out. Guess it depends what colour it was.

extreme

I take it you reported it to the garage or the truck stop while you was their so they can log it in the accident book,
if you didn’t then that’s your claim gone out of the window,

I am a very calm person but this one thread is winding me up so much that if you claim a i hope your nuts drop off and if ever god forbid you won then you had a worse accident that was again due to your own incompetance whereby you had no innocent party to claim off. sorry for rant but dislike artificial claimants and if OP doesn’t like it then tough seems majority see through the “falseness” sorry rant over. just got home and contents renewal through and although i haven’t claimed for 20 years still goes up due to other claims and we all know a lot of them fabricated :smiling_imp:

Too bloody true old timer.

^ Ditto.
There’s a programme doing the rounds on Sky Atlantic just now.
“Hot Coffee”. Very interesting. Shows how all the soft ■■■■■ have spoilt things for folk who’ve really been done buck.
