Dipper_Dave:
Im a bit concerned about our doze, hes either still on the job or stuck in premod.
Chances are he is running late and even more ■■■■■■ off with his planners. No reports of any major dramas in his area so fingers crossed.
Edit: Theres also the chance he has a proper life and isnt glued to this forum like me. Hopefully he is trying to reproduce as I type. Best way to keep her indoors happy when tramping is to put her on the nest.
Dave, I think I like your posts even more than I like Doze’s
We should find a TV company to make a program all about Dozy, Dipper Dave, Robroy, The Moaster and the smoking Monkey as the main characters . I reckon it would be hilarious and risqué and downright rude at time.
It would have a lot better audience the that lot in green I reckon…but it would have to be after the watershed and probably on channel 4 as they like confrontation.
After a bad nights sleep I sent various texts, this one seemed to do the trick
Not leaving till 7 am so can you ask them to get answers to these questions before I leave , also questions need asking why I’m being given work I’ve not got the equipment , knowledge or training to do, a recipe for disaster or a heavy fine I’m not paying due to the points above ,training ,equipment , knowledge .
Job was taken off me and I was sent to do another job ,scaffolding , then a tower crane next day , all went well ,tower crane on ,then
N Johnny foreigner told me to stop strapping up ( what have I done wrong now ) lad said we may need to put something on top ,wtf ,I’ve already got a section of a tower crane on ,luckily chap loading me put him right ,said look on my face when lad wanted to drop something on top was a sight to behold .
Asked again to come off job ,but no answer , interview for milk tankers this week , and fridges this week ,I’m off if I get either , fridges preferably
Thanks for all the help
I used to collect radio masts from Gloucester - pretty similar to tower crane jibs. No great weight but tricky in a curtainsider. The lads in the yard were really good though and showed me how to strap them so they wouldn’t move. We would put a couple of sections on the floor, strap them down, and then one or two more on top and strap them down too. Lot’s of climbing about, but they never moved an inch.

Well done for sticking up for yourself doze. Back in the day the training and knowledge was gained by going in at the deepend but those days are gone, to much arse covering is needed now.
By right equipment do you mean marker boards. I’d rather have a portacabin than a load of scaffold though. 12 foot wide was me biggest, great fun that was but a tiddler compared to what some buggers carry.
[Could you all pretend I’ve slipped in a joke here about a large back passage as I’ve got a walk-around check to do.]
