Permits

What’s wrong with people this days, its clearly oversized load, do some research. And all the info needed is on UK.gov website and even I could find it easily.
Going to London in oversized load without knowing route, permits, direction, I there say you will need at least one ■■■■■■ vehicle, at least here is mandatory, Im guessing in UK is to.
What is going to be the next thread: Can I drive petrol tank lorry without ADR certificate :unamused:

P.S. Excuse my frustration

You must allow time to get the necessary clearances from the police, highway and bridge authorities. For example, a Special Order application must be completed 10 weeks before the scheduled date of the move.

I really do think you are becoming a troll more and more mind.

I don’t care if he’s a troll, a wind up merchant or just as thick as two short planks, his posts always bring a tear to my eye. I rather read dozy’s posts than any of the trolling Mr Perfect posts any day.

Heres your keys & paperwork … Crack on drive

I cant disagree but the more recent ones are less funny. last years posts made me cry at times.

Some tips doze.
Don’t plonk it against the headboard if it’s a close coupled trailer. 4 feet back will do.

If it’s the type I used to carry the wooden runners sit almost perfect between raised twist locks, ensuring cabin is central and straight.

Make sure doors of cabin are locked and windows secured.

Don’t forget wide load markings, beacons can be a pain to follow behind but most use em.

Don’t drive like a ■■■■, remember your extra girth and watch out for vehicles on hard shoulder laybys etc.

If overtaking pick your moments wisely, use a bit more of the outer lane if no traffic is about.

After overtaking leave a little longer before pulling in, ensure forward visibility is good to see any potential hard shoulder incidents.

Follow route to the letter, familiarize yourself with it, escorts shouldn’t be needed but check route docs to see.

Tower crane bits may be just a jib section and ballast weights, couple of chains and lots of straps should be fine for securing.

Use method we have taught you on other thread for throwing straps over.

Good luck, crack on take your time and hurry up.

Please let us know how you get on, pictures would be nice. Especially of any totty en route.

Dozy I think you just need to get out now, your constantly out your comfort zone if you cannot fine a permanent job must be loads of agency work around to get you by until you find one, the jobs not worth stressing over you will just end up I’ll.

I want Dozy to stick at it, his posts and the answers they generate must be a great help to others. Plus they make the rest of us look good.

I just hope he is a real person.
Are you off premed now doze.

No ■■■■■■ needed for those dimensions or but movement order will be needed as 10 ft is over 3 meters

The permit needed will look like this . And don’t forget if you park in services take the permit in to the shop and the should remove your reg from system for free parking

I await the kill count …
Inc the number of mirrors he’s knocked off other vehicles, and the number of sign posts he’s knocked over with the wide load while enroute

It’s dozy will prob end up on its roof

Dozy. When I worked at Canute, I now and again delivered roof trusses. Knowing the height of your load is CRITICAL.

You said you have a ’ tape measure that fold’s over ’ at a certain height.

Why the [zb] don’t you have a height measuring stick? Especially if you are doing flatbed work!

I have a decent extendable one, only cost around £20. Invaluable and will save you grief and possibly a trip to see the TC.

New Rule

Dozy has to post his intended route on Trucknet UK at least 2 clear days before setting off, :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

So that we can all keep well clear !!!

Have ya made it there yet driver? ( one-way street, right )

Come on Dozy …tell us are you home and tucked up safe and well with a beer now.

Or is another chapter in the book of woe about to be disclosed ?

We are agog

This is a job for a hero, I’ll not take my coat off then…

Im a bit concerned about our doze, hes either still on the job or stuck in premod.

Chances are he is running late and even more ■■■■■■ off with his planners. No reports of any major dramas in his area so fingers crossed.

Edit: Theres also the chance he has a proper life and isnt glued to this forum like me. Hopefully he is trying to reproduce as I type. Best way to keep her indoors happy when tramping is to put her on the nest.
