Don’t give too much away Dan,Bewick 2 might be interested in shifting it!

I doubt it as it means getting dirty

windrush:
If it has an eight potter in it then most likely it’s a crew cabbed S18 or S20, might be better to get the brakes working on it and use it to tow your Foden about Dan? Or, thinking outside of the box, it could even form the nucleus of the new ‘Bewick Supertruck’ (he could even put a ‘Big A’ badge on the grille so folk wont think he has finally gone upmarket !) as it would easily drag around pretty much any weight he is likely to want shifting? :bulb: Maybe I could even have a late career as a transport planner after all?

Pete.

S20 I think Pete crew cab too .

Well if it needs sheeting I believe they have a special sheet for moving vehicles with a hole in

Yes they’re still going as far as I know. They are very selective on where they go, tending to keep in the southern half of the country. Big AEC users for many years, having some of the last Mandators to be registered. There is a family connection between Jonathan Jempson and Mike Beer, cousins IIRC.

When I worked at Colin Ashby Transport we were told that The Jempsons were related to Colin.

  How convenient!

Dean, that Van Den Bosch FM unit seems to be RHD, not sure where their UK depot is, but HQ is in Holland indeed. Have been trading for quite some time, although they gained bit of a “reputation” in the past few years… I’ve posted some about the heavy haulage division they had on the heavies thread mate.

Cheers, Patrick

Greetings,All.
These old photos were in the legendary shoe box I found whilst having a bit of a clear out.
Not the best I agree but someone out there might remember or have driven them.Regards, stay safe,900x20.

I have a job in the pipeline to move a foden S something 20/21 ? Heavy haulage winch tractor unit it’s got a very early 8 cylinder Gardner but I need to work out the weight .

Who are you subbing the job to then Dan’l ?

There’s not that many hauliers that could move it as it’s a none runner and the brakes are on ,there is 6 plus tonnes of winch and balance weight to be craned on and the foden will need getting off at the other end too I’d say I’ve got the market cornered

£££££££££££££££ ! :sunglasses:

A few Bradys photos in this months Vintage Roadscene that may be of interest to you Dennis

Greetings,Froggy55.
The artic is a Volvo F7 The photo was taken at a Lorry Driver of the Year competition, year unknown. The fleet though, was mainly made up of Roadtrains and Seddon Atkinsons.
Regards,stay safe,900x20.

Thanks! The cab definitely has the shpe of the F7’s which was also fitted on some Berliet & Saviem (and then Renault “G”) trucks, but the unusual grille mistaked me.

Nightingale Engineering was owned by the same family that bought Atkinson out of receivership in 1933, and who ran Atkinson in its plc days until the acquisition by Seddon late in 1970. Their premises in Nightingale Lane, Balham were also home to Atkinson Vehicles (London) Limited and another Atkinson subsidiary called Coach Bodies Limited.
