Dean is fine he is taking a well deserved break from an undeserving forum.
His input this last three years, since he posted the first picture below back in June 2017, has been truly amazing.
Many of you just ‘looking in’ have no idea how long it takes to collate, scan and download the vast amount of material that Dean has posted.

I’m struggling to understand why, in your opinion, the forum does not deserve to have the absolutely brilliant contribution from Dean.
You make a large and very welcome contribution yourself. Is the forum also undeserving of your excellent posts ?
You seem to be implying that the people who " just look in " are a problem. Do you have any suggestions as to how the forum owners could rectify the " problem " ?
Regards John.
Pound to a pinch of you know what he’s DIYing

If it has an eight potter in it then most likely it’s a crew cabbed S18 or S20, might be better to get the brakes working on it and use it to tow your Foden about Dan?Or, thinking outside of the box, it could even form the nucleus of the new ‘Bewick Supertruck’ (he could even put a ‘Big A’ badge on the grille so folk wont think he has finally gone upmarket !) as it would easily drag around pretty much any weight he is likely to want shifting?
Maybe I could even have a late career as a transport planner after all?
Pete.
S20 I think Pete crew cab too .
Are you sure its not a Big J with a crew cab transplanted , they were well known for the 8 cylinder Gardner !!!
Some photos to bring Paul Gee’s collection back to the top.
Askeys from Sheffield have been going for years,a firm I remember well in 60s and 70s and still operating to this day.
March 2013 the worst snow in yrs I took the above DAF 95 to tamworth with a semi low hiab trailer on a Saturday my Audi Quattro nearly got bellied going over the top of froggatt edge ,lord Askey was on holiday and knew nothing of the weather
I remember one of Askey’s catching fire at the Coppice Steam Rally near Trowell a few years ago, the fridge set the cab alight.
Pete.
What a shame it is neither Dean of Paul are posting anymore, it was a daily ritual for me to look at this thread as I am sure it was for many other followers and there has been no explanation for the sudden stopping of posts, trust all is well with both and sincerely hope the resumption will be forthcoming as the posts certainly jogged the old grey matter with a gentle reminder of all the companies I knew and ran alongside back in the day, Buzzer.

Yes indeed my sentiments exactly …and totally agree with you Buzzer as i sure all other members would agree …the site is not the same with Dean and Pauls brilliant output …hope both guys are safe and well …Geraint
Sorry to read Paul and Dean are taking a break from posting their excellent photos, but I fully appreciate the time and effort you both have put in to this forum to date.
Sadly I lost my dad a few weeks ago but I would like to thank Paul and Dean for posting photos of BP Oil tankers from the 1970s and 80s. Dad drove for BP during that period and I had many happy times over the last couple of years showing him the photos on this forum. He loved seeing the old motors he drove and the pictures bought him a lot of pleasure and many memories.
I’m sure there are many other people who have also enjoyed your contributions.
Thank you again and I hope you both keep safe and well.
Darren

And there are a few precious, self-trumpeters who dropped really lucky as a result of the efforts of those who ‘look in’ & have done regularly for nearly twenty years…
Be very careful what you say Paul. After all - if you hadn’t mydered me for weeks with emails - pumping me for information about W & J Ridings, you wouldn’t have got your ‘in’ with Tom; and look where that led. There are loads of people up & down this country who know plenty and say little. They love to come on here to re-live their careers in road transport. They don’t appreciate harsh words from someone who perhaps should know better.

With only a small number of posts spread over 10 years, I suppose I may be considered " one who looks in ". Perhaps the main problem could be I only post when I think I’ve got something to say.
Regards.John.

Hi Rowley trust you and yours are keeping safe mate, maybe its a bit like a restoration job in the manner that when you get a new project you are all gung ho and everything has to be done yesterday but then the enthusiasm wains a little and it gets put on the back burner, lets hope so with Dean & Paul and as you say this thread brings back so many memories of life on the road from way back to present, Buzzer.
Met the legend punchy Dan on Thursday he loaded out of formation furniture in bridgend which has gone bust ,he showed me his roping and sheeting skills
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Sheeting/roping I cant comment on incase I upset his teacher ROF, however it looks as though Harry Gill has taught him how to avoid hosepipes!
Pete.

That’s not how I taught him to do it! I reckon he’s had a refresher course from Bungee Bob in Kendal.

You cheeky ■■■■ ROF I’ll have you know I’ve never resorted to using bungees ever Unlike young Dan’l who depends on them ! I just bet Halfords love it when he call in every week and cleans them out of their stock !!
