Greyhound plant from Knockin Heath, owners were T E Jones who you have featured a few times Dean ,he got rid of the haulage side and went into plant in a big way . Elwyn Morris DAF from Oswestry ,got rid of the DAFs and mostly now Scanias but he does not sign write them ,the yard is next to Pentons ,good to see Paul in Shropshire again ,thank you Trevor

Missed one off Dean!
I don’t know who the Foden was owned by but J.B.M.I specialise in precious metal recovery, aluminium ingot’s etc. Their works are opposite A.L.E at Hixon Ind. est Staffordshire.
The Foden belonged to Tom Babb from nr Alton Towers he’s got an alpha 2 now and a restored foden 2 stroke mixer ,the alpha one pictured had a twin splitter fitted .when I used to drive my fathers artic tipper I’d deliver metallic salt to Jbm .

Nice one Dan,
I think that is the only liveried trailer I have seen regarding JBMI, used to take ceramic dust in there from Stourport, open the bin door and run like hell or you’d would get plastered in the stuff!
Is the restored mixer in red and blue livery? Cheer’s Pete

C.W Yoxhall, would that be Clive Yoxhall before they changed the livery? One of Frank Wrights sleeper cabbed Foden tankers from Ashbourne following behind him. Trevor Bird used to cart out of Tilcons (later Tarmac) quarries in the Midlands, he had a Foden Alpha eight wheeler tipper when I saw him last and I ran with him sometimes. I believe he isn’t too well at present though.
Pete.

Hi Pete,
Would that be the same firm as Yoxhall Transport that adopted the brown and yellow livery of Eric Armitt?
I used to collect regular loads of “chick grit” from Frank Wrights on the Airfield Ind Est and those lads who stacked the bags on the pallets must have been the best in the business, 10 pallets on get the sheet nice and tight and never had to put a rope over as it never moved moved and I was a young tear arse then!
We also used to get Sellers and Kent with their Foden tankers or occasionally Tighes with the 4 wheel Commer deliver a load of limestone grit to the mill for the layers mash they used to produce, good for the egg shells I believe, Cheer’s Pete

That’s what I was thinking Pete, I may well be wrong though! Tighes Commer tanker is preserved and used to do local shows, I haven’t seen it for a few years now though? Punchy Dan will no doubt know the owner and if he still has it. They carted from either Ben Bennetts or Longcliffe.
Pete.
