Foden S106 tractor unit Reg No C988 END was registered new to Austin Wilkinson & Sons Ltd on the 2nd of June 1986.
Powered by a ■■■■■■■ E290 engine it is seen here when just two days old on one of it’s first outings after loading up at Blyth Docks in Northumberland.

Thanks for the concern but I’m still vertical & breathing! Can’t ask for more at my age. Been a bit busy with allotment duties lately but I do have a glance through every couple of days. I’ll make every attempt to conform to your “Must try harder” instruction.

Always handy still being verical chap ! I dont blame you growing your own vegtables chap. On my walks recently i have
noticed how quickly the crops have been growing but there are no weeds in the field,makes you wonder what we are eating.

The Foden Twin Load was yet another experiment by the company (they were never afraid of trying different things!) but regulations regarding maximum weights/lengths of artics changed just after they were developed so really they were ‘out of date’ before they got going! Harveys of Bristol ran a few, two tank outfits and either a boxvan or curtainsider, and they were regulars running through Reading on their way to London. The tank outfits also went overseas, presumably collecting sherry? The Foden factory had one as well.
