Could be Rob,looks very similar.

Nice. Cant remember all the names there’s loads of them. Peter,Gordon,Graham and Edward i believe were all brothers.
I think one of there sons was called Joe ? I expect someone on here knows all the different names.
Another Gilder!!! not sure if one of the “brothers” - can anyone confirm■■?
Thats what i mean Paul, totally forgot about William Gilder who was one of the brothers.
The Gilder brohers have always been massive Scania users so unusual to see another marque in the fleet.

Graham is this an old Spiers of Melksham motor, looks similar paint work ■■
Interesting photo with the neat rest cab extension. Spiers of Melksham never ran any Ergo cab Marshals, they had several Park Royal cabbed Marshals.
I am surprised to hear that’s not an ex Spiers motor Graham, looked very similar.
windrush:
Yes Dean, that Tilcon Foden S39 was based at our quarry. I remember tilting the cab to rebuild its engine.
Driven from new by the Late Ken Brandon from Alstonefield (an Arnhem glider veteran) and we also had sister truck WNU 799K which Maurice Fearn (who now has a few classic trucks on the show circuit) drove when new. I wonder where the pic was taken?
Pete.
Thought that may have been one of your old Fodens. I will ask Paul to see if Mark remembers where he took the pic.
tribsa:
Hi All
The tin cab Seddon 13/4 I think they were designated looks a lot like the one that ended up at Curtis Padwick an agricultural dealer in Winchester & Warminster at that time also owned by the same people.
Cheers
Rich
Thanks for your comments Rich.
Talking about agricultural dealers a new one has opened up about 6 miles from where
i live down a B road off a wider B road. But there are no signs to tell people they are there which seems a bit odd as you cant
see it unless you drive down the smaller B road, just seems odd not to adverise it.

Anyone know where the tidy Border Stone Foden is from ■■?
Dont remember having a Hudson Transport on before, anyone know where they are from ■■
Inta Business Logistics Mercedes from your part of the world Trevor.
Hello DEAN ,the Border Stone Foden was from Trewern near Welshpool they had their own quarry ,now Hudson Transport are from Clun Shropshire and have been around for years mostly animal feeds they used to haul out of South Shropshire Farmers mill that was at Craven Arms ,but Hudsons are still around with just a couple of wagons .
Inta Logistics ,Dean are from the Telford area but do not know much about them ,thank you Trevor
Good stuff Trevor you certainly know all the companies around your area.

Hi Dean
thanks for the Drinkwater Sabey Octopus.Im guessing he was an owner driver. Quite an underrated lorry I feel. Notice the Daimer/Jag? behind also with the MEL reg prefix as on the Leyland ? Keep up the excellent work mate,
If you are intrested in the Leyland Octopus chap, have a look at page 295.
I dont know anything about Drinkwater but we have had several pics of leylands,Volvo’s on here in their colours.

Yep, another of the dynasty! William runs a tidy fleet of Muck tankers. The F88 artic livestock vehicle which looks to be in Gloucester market is in the livery of G.G. (Grampy) Gilder- the original!- although I suspect it was being operated by Peter.
Spot on “ROF” G.G.Gilder. I thought you had fell off your perch chap as you have not been on for a while, hope everything is ok.

Advert, not one of my better efforts. (Click on twice)

Ray Smyth:
This Ford D Series, reg number LYK 434P, was another 13 tons GVW curtainsider that I
bought from Rank Hovis in 1982. I hand painted it in Midnight Blue, from a can of paint
that I scrounged from Robert Baillie Transport depot at Wigan. Like the previous 2 Fords,
the bodywork was by Southfields of Loughborough. Click picture for full image.
Ray Smyth.
“hand painted” Looks a quality job Ray,thanks for the comments and pic chap.
