Looks like one from the Isle of Man Chris.

Dieseldog or Oily may recognise the Mercedes car transporter.Looks like it was a local company to me
with a Poole Speedway sun strip in the window.

Anyone recognise the Dodge ■■ Think it says Hammond on the door ?

Elliotts yard scene.

Moreys DAF concrete mixer from Ringwood.

Morning Dean.
I’ll enquire about the Isle of Man Foden and Seddon.

I can shed some light on the Mercedes car transporter as this was where I started my working career. The Mercedes in the photo was operated by Cartransport at their Queenborough depot on the Toyota contract. I can’t quite remember what driver had this one as it was such a long time ago but I do remember the Poole Speedway sunstrip in the window. In fact this one was quite unusual as most of the other Mercedes were red with a white stripe instead of white with red. I think there were only two which had the colours reversed. However, when these W reg 1626s were replaced with 1625s they were all white with a red stripe like the one in the photo.

Fodena.JPGCertainly a Foden works motor.

Foden factory production line shot from 1962.

Another works motor was this 1968 Foden S24 Twin Load which was saved for preservation
and is now owned by Knowles Transport of Wimblington Cambridgeshire.

P2160100.JPGRegarding tankers anyone remember 1995 when every available tanker in the country went on the Yorkshire Water job
during the drought that year.

The scene on the A672 Oldham Road adjacent to Boothwood Reservoir in 1995,
