Hi Dean,
Here’s a few of the pictures featured in the McVeigh article you posted above along with a couple more taken in their old yard…
Tubbysboy:
Anyone recognise the Scania ■■Dean,
The Scania is on of RT Stewards from Manningtree, nr colchester.
They used to do a lot of traction work from Harwich.
Keep the photos coming !
Well done “Tubbysboy” thanks for the name. Although the mile away pics are dodgy its amazing
how many still get recognised.

Some more about Humber.
Humber Warehousing Group ran seven AEC V8 Mandators, but like a lot of those V8s they weren’t a success.I believe they were relegated to local work.

Thanks for the info Chris. Heres one of there Mandators !
Paul has just been in contact and he has seen Mark over the weekend and has some new photos
from him.
Most of the pictures that they have are on slides bearing in mind how old alot of them are. You have to use a
special scanner to convert them to photos and unfortunately due to the amount Paul has been doing his
scanner blew up !
Paul being Paul decided to build a home made one and here it is.
I think its pretty stylish with the pringle tube !
Whilst it looks a bit dodgy check out the quality of these two pics bearing in mind they were taken in
the 1970’s.
I am well chuffed with the first one as its only the second pic i have ever seen of a Beacon Hill Brick
Company truck that was a local company to me and a few of my family worked there.
Lovely old Foden.
W.H.Geer from Poole pulling a Redland pipe trailer.
Paul will send me the rest of the pics once he has scanned them and cleaned them up in due course.

Probably why they needed this large well equipped garage for their V8’s.
Thanks again to Dean,Paul and Mark for their amazing efforts in keeping this site in my own opinion the best on Trucknet [emoji1303]

Thanks for your comments John & ROF. Paul built the scanner for about £10.00as an electrical company
were shutting down and bought the bits in a closing down sale.Think it was Maplin. I think the most expensive
bit was the fan that was £3.00 !![]()

I personally think he should patent it ,i mean that green
pringle tube is just so classy its bound to sell !![]()
