Trailer looks to be one of Durhams of Teesside so could be an owner driver subbie. Load of straight rod on also which was more than likely out of BSC Lackenby.
Would also like to say a Merry Christmas and a happy new year to Dean Paul and Mark for all the effort put in to this thread which has been the highlight of the year on Trucknet as far as i am concerned and i think most people will agree.
Definitely been a trip down memory lane. And long it may continue into 2018!

ERF-NGC-European, One for you Robert !Gammonds ERF
Gammond’s were a rather ‘colourful’ Hereford haulier- Robert, you’ll have to ask my Dad about them, I’m sure he’ll have a few tales to tell there.
It’s possible that this ERF ran down to the Middle East - I remember them running a 6 x 4 Scania 140 on M / E some point in the mid 70’s. IIRC it was driven by Graham Gammond, son of the owner - Eddie Gammond.
Cheers all, Keith
Thanks for that Dean, Paul G and Keith! (see pic below)
Here’s another pic of the same wagon:
I suspect that the ERF you mention, Keith, that they sent to the M/E was this very unusual LHD mid-lift B-series:

Thanks for the article regarding the Lowfields Bedford Dean.
Here’s a few pictures of some more of their motors from the 1980’s
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to photographers Paul C Gee and Mark S Bailey and also to you and yours Dean for all your hard work this last seven months downloading and updating the thread, i know how time consuming it can be.
Merry Christmas to you all and the photo’s and chat is second to none. Its great to see so many good pictures of the classic days of transport…Cheers
Merry Christmas to both Dean and Paul who’s thread has , without doubt, become a most welcome revelation throughout the past year. The scope and breadth contained within the vast volume of the posts is phenomenal and the quality of the photos is faultless. I look forward to “repeat business” during 2018 ! So all the best to both of you for the New Year. Kind Regards Dennis.
I used to load gammonds trailers in the abbey they also got a veg shop in port talbot
Hi all. John many years ago I used to go to Hereford Galvanisers regularly and Gammond’s always had trailers in there. Went to their yard once, more like a scrap yard.
Merry Xmas to all, ditto comments Dennis made.
Paul
Could I add my thanks and season’s greetings to all on this tread?

That is frankly services southbound that trailer was most probably tipped in the midlands from the abbey and returning back sheeted down to keep the bed dry John
