Gammond’s were a rather ‘colourful’ Hereford haulier- Robert, you’ll have to ask my Dad about them, I’m sure he’ll have a few tales to tell there.
It’s possible that this ERF ran down to the Middle East - I remember them running a 6 x 4 Scania 140 on M / E some point in the mid 70’s. IIRC it was driven by Graham Gammond, son of the owner - Eddie Gammond.

The memories brought back of when I used to see some of these trucks regularly on the road, and the quality of the pics look like they could have been taken just yesterday.
I eagerly dip into it most days hoping I will see one of mine, but not yet.

A few casuals late 70s .Peter Fraser, Tom.Garner, John Walton, A.J. Markley, all Silloth,…all rigids.
Viv S Lightfoot, P.A.Morgan …artic tippers, DAF and a Maggie Deutz.
Cheri Foam.
Drove a Tait’s Vehicle Hire Darlington F7 on a V reg. for about a year pulling National Carriers trailers.
Later on early 80s, Kirkbride Transport Services, mostly DAFs, Whitfield Transport Silloth. ERFs, Sed Atks, and a couple of Cargos.

…Nah I reckon Beaver is the guvnor on that score.
Tbf mate most that I listed were casual jobs that I done regularly, and for mates.
Reckoning up I’ve had 8 full time jobs since 1979, one of which was my own business for 14 yrs, so not as bad (or embarassing ) as it looks.

In 40+ years I only changed jobs four times, and one of those was for less than a year. Variety is the spice of life etc…
