Unless that 6 wheeler Trader is exiting that warehouse I reckon he will struggle to reverse up that slight slope judging by the angle of the rear bogie and being a single drive axle he will have lost traction . Just my observation others may disagree !
Fitzwilliam St Bradford , i would guess he was leaving .I think it had a Primrose conversion.Fielders premises , they were bought out by A One Transport Leeds
That must be the OUT gate lol, no way would it get in that way, ( forward or reverse ).
Don’t be silly! There’s a chap on here could pop that in there backwards with two drawbar trailers on, in two shakes of a lamb’s tail (supposing he could get it into gear, that is).
There were loads of motors with canopys fitted that operated around our area.My dad had one fitted to his Mammoth Major which pulled a Dyson drawbar. The mills that they loaded out of were designed for horse n carts up cobbled streets
They did, and the sheeted top came into contact with Ackworth railway bridge regularly, usually about 7/8 pm when one of the London trunk motors, just setting off to London took the top layer of the load off on the low bridge.
The model I started off my tramping career in, same total load space too, only difference was I had no shelf over the top of the cab but the identical space was tacked on at the back. Thus I knew exactly how to have light steering, in fact I discovered it very early on when I went straight on at a corner.

However, stamping on the accelerator each time the front wheels hit the road, helped. ![]()
Here’s a couple to make Peter Davies drool! I hope he’s still going strong, I haven’t heard anything about him recently.
I wonder how many Tesco drivers’d refuse to take this out, even if modern rules were waived for the day!
Thanks Oily! Alas I’m not, but glad to see he’s still going strong.
Or perhaps you’re a decent driver?
Bloody hell Casey where you been hiding this last while? What a grand day we had back then, pity we couldn’t turn the clock back eh..
Strewth, Oily, who’s the oversized idiot in the silly shirt? No specs these days, thanks to a cataract op but the hair’s still the same attractive colour! Are you keeping well?
Every driver’s nightmare!
I’ll bet he’s praying that it’s an imported kingpin.
And praying that the quality of steel used in the chassis members that hold the fifth wheel was up to the job…
