Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 2)

Well the Germans finally took over nearly all our industry’s and shut them down. Hitler tried it. the So called EU did just that without a war. Nothing left in this country what is left is foreign owned. we sold our backside out to how ever. We failed. thanks to Margaret in the 80s. idiot Labour government in the 70 unions with to much power idiots going on strike over split coffee. Now look at us a joke.

You can do better than that Ro…Messerschmitt.

During and after the war (WW2) a lot of toys were warplanes, tanks lorries etc and as a child I was into drawing war scenes which I may still have an example of but where?
Thinking to where we were(Aberdeenshire) we did at night hear German bombers going over, the railway sidings at Kittybrewster Aberdeen were hit and it was not unusual for my dad and I of a dark evening going outside listening for them and of course he was in the Home Guard.
Drawing aged 10 it was all that was in our heads during the war .

On the A9 Easter Ross north side of the Cromarty Firth October 2025.

Just needs a tarp to properly secure it.

Good going mate, 1942 me, and most of my snaps are of dogs, still walking them in forest and field twice a day.

And maybe another axle.

Are those 2 bins on the front to keep the steers on the road?

I reckon it would struggle with three axles powered by producer gas.

WaW, that pic takes me back to my early days as apprentice technician at a Ford Main car van & t.s.d. dealership in west wales one of the earliest for dealerships in wales founded in 1912! anyway roll back to June 7th 1976 for my arrival and the workshop was 1 massive unit with 18 techs + apprentices , and we had 3 of those air operated ramps (front of pic nxt to mini van) still operational worked well apart from the large central post that raised them getting in the way ! , these were for cars & vans all the other l.c.v. lifts were laycock 4 posters! the H.G.V. section had 3 x 30’ inspection pits stepped from the sides of the adjoining front area all lit with oil & grease guns shared from the front joining section. the beauty of my apprentichip was that you would work on all sorts everyday could be a cortina mk4 or 1 fiesta, Escort, granada’s, thames 400e vans , transits, anglias, zephyr / zodiac thames trader or D series’ wonderful upbringing with proper Mechanics to train with…..

E.W. thanks for posting :+1:

Same here EW where i served my time we had two two post rams operated by air/hydraulic, rear post was stationary and you adjusted front via a hand operated chain drive. We also later on had a three post set up once again middle one fixed and you moved rear and front to fit, this was full hydraulic off a power pack. they were great for working on vehicles, saying that we could put our eight wheeler ERF tippers on it always looked a bit scary with one of those up about 5 foot above!!

They don’t come much cornier.
