Mr Punchards new and very tidy new motor. It’s a credit to all involved to turn something like that out. Top marks.

Volvo is it, I can’t really tell.
He is going to find one hell of a difference in that from his old Foden…comfort and ride for starters.

90s tech to modern tech in one move.
Mostly positive and good, but not all good with the other unnrcessary electronic b/s stuff fitted purely for those who can’t drive.
At least the rest of us have had to put up with it and get used to it gradually over the years.

Early shot of Siddle Cook (Elddis ) depot in Consett

Whoops. I reckon the Volvo has put the F/N/S wheel into the cellar.

That definitely looks like CF in the drivers seat.

It’s a usual scene of an AEC rescuing an ERF .Not really probably saving fuel

Well it is a syncro box.

On TIR plates.

Will that be a V8 Detroit in the KM?

Those Landies were a nightmare coming towards you on a dark night, with the headlights so close together they looked much farther away.
Of course they were changed later, not sure if that was due to a law change or not.

They moved the headlamps outwards for the Series 3.

Actually Series lla, there were complaints in Australia at the grill of that model changing to plastic. Steaks cooked on plastic just didn’t taste right.
I’d love one of those Series ls.

Very expensive over here SDU

TIR plates were a fad back in the day but most operators who sported them on there motors had no idea what they stood for and really we were no different, the other fads were two lit up Spanish lights to signify that it was an artic etc also the Dutch always wanted the rounded rubberlight winker lenses same as the red rear light as they were considered cool and had many nicked over the years but when they were wet with road film were a lot easier to get off than the domed type, Buzzer

The thin TIR lettered plate was prized more as it was the thin continental style.

KM only had 6v71 not 8.
