Not to be out done now we are on the straw trail which I did a lot during my earlier years so here are a couple of shots of my involvement over the years, me on top of the Ford D600 I believe in 1973 just loaded 260 standard bales IIRC by pitchfork stacked with precision and the other shot on our farm a lot earlier about 1954/5 and think that was a crop of rye. That’s me in front of the fella with the ■■■ hanging out his gob and he did most farm jobs like hedging and ditching and also could draw straw and thatch, he cut the first round with a scythe so the binder never ran over any of the crop, he also did piece work hoeing thinning out beet & kale so a multi tasker, he also taught me how to split wood and make fencing piles so a good all rounder for sure sadly bin gone some twenty odd years now and not sure if there are many like him about today, cheers Buzzer.

Hi Ade, this is a good selection of photos at Speech House, I attended that rally about 5 years ago and really enjoyed it. Seeing your photo of the David Brown Cropmaster with iron wheels reminds me of the one my uncle had circa 1948 but with conventional rubber tyres. One day my cousin driving with me chucking turnips out of the trailer behind as we progressed down a field, Tom driving was day dreaming leaning on the offside mudguard staring at the ground when he sneezed violently and his two front teeth on a plate shot out immediatly in front of the rear wheel which promptly pressed it into the ground. Stopping and dropping to his knees he managrd to dig the plate out of the damp soil rubbed them on his overalls and popped them back in his mouth.Hygiene & Health and Safety whats that ■■ he celebrated his 75 th bithday earlier this week stil hale and hearty.
Here are some photos from my visit to Speech House Rally in 2012. Note the Leyland Leopard with a narrow Plaxton Paramount body on a standard 8 ft 2 1/2 in wide chassis. Also added a photo of the cab area on Thomas’s of Llangadog Leopard with pneumocyclic gearbox.
Cheers Leyland 600.

Wallace Arnold Motorcoach Holiday Tours,of Leeds, operated four re-bodied-Leyland Leopard motorcoaches with narrow Plaxton Paramount 3200
bodies, for use in the West Country touring Dartmoor which has some narrow roads - hence the narrow motorcoach bodies

When you mentioned CSU 937,and saw your photograph,I thought it might be one of those above Wallace Arnold motorcoaches

I remember seeing a black & white photograph of one of these particular motorcoaches in BUSES Magazine after they had just recently entered
service with Wallace Arnold Motorcoach Holiday Tours as Plaxton Paramount 3200 motorcoaches
