Nice one Leyland600, 956 was my shift bus 61/62, Oxford Gloucester Green Bus Station to Abingdon Ock St. the last bus I actually drove before leaving to go on car delivery, there were about a dozen of that type, nice drive, lovely bark of the exhaust in preservation here oxfordbusmuseum.org.uk

think you’ll find more on that one if you trawl thorough the old Northamptonshire companies thread, had a tag axle added later, but I first saw it in the yard I shared about 30 odd years ago , spent months with its cab in the air.

here’s a couple of photos from the Northamptonshire thread, when it was in my yard I thought it was a complete dog to be honest, the amount of time it spent bowing to the public.

yes it was definitely a 2 axle job around 1982 , I guess it got a tag axle for 38 tonnes later in its somewhat chequered life, hope its got a good home now, deserves it
