Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 1)

That is a fine area of Scotland, Sutherland as! The best in my opinion.
It is a tricky corner for a normal lorry, never mind a heavy! I’m sure Patrick would like the challenge though .

Hi Johnny, west has the edge for scenery, this an excerpt from the Quest Supertruckers TV prog featuring Metcalfe Farms Heavy Haulage, also nice to see a young man with the right attitude to what the future holds for him, enjoy all of you looking in.

Thanks to kevmac47 and Dirty Dan for the pics

M6 Sept. last, the hard shoulder queue was exiting on slip road south of Kendal. 2nd pic intimidation from this guy for a few miles who used middle and n/s lanes and stretching the posted speed limit to gain advantage. I’d give him the benefit of doubt considering todays demand on drivers to meet deadlines.

Is that still opened then? Haven’t been there for ages…used to be another spot where you could park up, not too far from town centre, don’t know if that’s still opened…?

Lovely motor Danne! Still miss mine…

LHD Leyland Beaver with roof-mounted air-con, sleeper cab and lift axle! Probably a two-pedal Pneumo-cyclic transmission Beaver, as I seem to remember reading on here somewhere that conventional transmission didn’t fit properly in the LHD version of the Ergo cab. Someone’ll know! Robert

Yes Patrick, the truckstop is still open, it is now accessed from a roundabout at the end of a new motorway link road. I’m not sure if the place in the town is still open as I now only go into the dock entrance near the Vosa Station. Regards Kev.

Yesterday I delivered grapes to the Penfold’s winery in Nuriootpa, South Australia, where this old Bedford is in daily use around the winery (it is a big winery). I’m not sure, but is an ā€˜O’ type Bedford? Sorry I didn’t get to look at the compliance plate and see what year she was built.

Here is a bit of different kit for this work. And to be fair it wasnt any good either…
