Punchy Dan:
01a couple for Rastone ,a bewick and a Morris at Netherland green ,but what yr ?
Where abouts and who are the blokes?
Approx 1955 ,there were 2 Morris lorries 1 driven by Frank Dale and yes both saurer diesels ex Brs Bromford lane depot Birmingham ,don’t know who the blokes are yet .
Off the subject a bit but there was about 900 to 1000 motors this year and more trucks at Lupin.I reckon Edwin will exceed more than £11000.I was wandering around in a daze didn’t know what to look at.Hope they did make a lot of money for the causes they support.St Gile’s are wonderful.I lost my wife last Feb and the support they gave her was wonderfukl and was able to be at home.
Good old Edwin. A chip off the old block I reckon.
Tony
Oh! do you think Mr Wakefield is counting his money? No sighn of him.
I know mr Wakefield was there Tony ,offering advice on exhibitors vehicles ,his time would be better spent filling the holes in what’s left of his half strength commer !
Buzzer:
Oily hope you forgive me for some of these do not have wheels but what a memory jerker, Buzzer.
Hi “Buzzer” Great stuff, I had many of those old chassis as they were called were I lived , Plus I still have card of Segs the we used to fix to our boots & shoes in the old days, In fact I still have my Grandads old Cobblers Last the he used, What a blast from the past Eh, Regards Larry.

Ah! sorry Rob.Looking on the floor and listening to my metal detector but not from your motor. There was quite a bit of filler though from previous years.
Hi Oily,
That Albion belonged to a friend of mine Simon Colley and he has just sold her to a lad up Scotland so you may bump in to her in a new livery soon, Cheer’s Pete ps. I’ve reposted your pic as it would not arrive with the quote!

Hi Buzzer, no problem, we used to make our own ‘hurlies’ we called them, orange crate or similar, old pram wheels, if lucky a couple of bigger rims off a Silver Cross, also made our own toy tractors and trailers(parent instruction) using spent boot and Mansion polish tins for wheels, my introduction to DIY, stood me in good stead all my life and still at it, tackle anything
Getting on a bit now and have been getting rid of quite a few tools, stuff that whirrs and cuts, a bit doddery to be trusted with that kinda stuff that’s when I came across the cobblers last and also cards of segs(binned), hanging on to the last and in the pic a couple of Blakey’s latter-day hard plastic segs.
Thanks for the memories.
Oily

A shoe ‘last’ with segs! Good heavens I’d forgotten that bit of my upbringing. At least I was taught how to do it - a bit like roping and sheeting, and maintaining domestic fires in grates, us old boys have an awful lot of useless skills to see us through the cyber age! Arf-arf-arf!! Robert

My old granddad used to cobble all our boots & shoes in the old days when they were worth doing, They lasted for a very long time, Not like the crappy stuff that’s on the market today unmendable in most cases, Buy them ware them then bin them, Regards Larry.

Hi Oily, Three old established ■■■■■■■■ hauliers all who have kept their original liveries for the past 50 plus years to my personal knowledge apart from Ian Faulder traction only unit which I cannot be certain of his livery over the years.
Cheers, Leyland 600.
