Where abouts and who are the blokes?
Going by the grille badge the Morris FVO has the Saurer diesel engine fitted, I still have a workshop manual for those!

Daft answer I gave you Where abouts but still do you know who the blokes are.

Did Mr Bewick’s many talents include building cars, or did you mean ‘Buick’, Dan? (although it MAY have an 8-pot Gardner under that bonnet!)

Good to hear from you again Ivor and thanks for the pics and bringing back the memory of the A34, yes many times south to Southsea, Waterlooville, Bournemouth and Dorchester with return loads from Soton Docks (Renault and Simca). 6am start with a breakfast at Walters(great guy) in Ock Street Abingdon, sometimes the cafe ‘tween Beedon and Chievley(now a motorcaravan dealership) at Newbury if going Bournemouth A343 up Hurstbourne Tarrant, wagon and drag 1st gear Eaton button up on to Andover and Salisbury, A338 through Fordingbridge to Ringwood and B’mouth then thro’ New Forest to the docks. For Southsea it was , (can’t remember the road number)Winchester thro’ Bishops Waltham, a cafe there as well, there was also one at Colden Common, two quite attractive sisters ran it, cheers again
Ivor may be a bloody bore to some but I’ve enjoyed putting it on record.
Eddie

Seeing that post about the A34 …back about 73/4 I regularly came up there from the Andover area (Picket Piece) I carried Norton motor bikes up to Scotland as a back load …there seemed to be a constant flow of BRS lads carrying combine harvesters heading for Southhampton docks … Unfortunately an elderly lady tried to overtake one and I was involved in a head on it was fatal …I managed to stop but she did,nt a sad day in my career My lorry was taken to Newbury for inspection but released later the next day and I carried on home its stuck with me for ever …the thread brought it back
on a lighter note I,ve attached a photo but can,t remember were I found it !!! remember undo your twist locks ■■?
