One or two more from Washington. Demolition of some of the old streets to make way for the New Town in the early sixties and Clan Cars, one of the many new ventures started in Washington New Town in the early seventies. The car was,IIRC, based on the Hillman Imp and there were about 300 built before the enterprise folded.
Couple of NCB tippers in The Glebe pit yard, one of the many pits in Washington and the long gone Washington Station.
Thanks to pete smith, servo88, rastone and tyneside for the pics
I remember the Clan Crusader, wasn’t aware of where it was made… interesting.
A waiting game for William Whyte of Grangemouth at Inverness Harbour wind turbine pound.

Quite a collection of industrial/agricultural transport there, Oily. I suspect they would mostly be powered by Listers of some sort.

Indeed, they do have a wonderful F88, Buzzer. I went past their yard a few weeks ago on a Sunday on the way home after a bit of hooliganism at Castle Coombe racetrack. I had hoped to take a surreptitious photo over the wall but the Volvo and the DAF were locked away in case some ex-pat fancied one of them! Or both.
Thanks for the “Lister” link, Oily. I’ll get round to reading during the week.
Just picked this picture on my favourite French Forum.
