Hi backsplice , yes you are quite right about the AEC Marshal belonging to Alec Eyre of Fraserburgh, truly a nostalgic photo of fish transport in the 1960s.
Cheers Leyland 600.

Thatâs come a bit full circle, hasnât it?
As I recall, in the far-off days when David Coulthard drove for the Williams Grand Prix team, they used the (then) new Renault âblock-of-flatsâ artic units to haul the teamâs trailers around. The tie-up was that Williams were at the time using Renault (ostensibly) racing engines. Young Mister Coulthardâs father got a new Renault liveried in the Williams team colours but couldnât wait to get rid of it when the deal ran out!
Last week on the A1M Washington
Buzzer/backsplice: Mammoth TransportâŚ(John Ward) was sold to Hoveringham because they used the Mammoth in their logo. John Ward had to stay out of competitive transport for 5 years following the deal. Step to the fore Louis Bull TransportâŚa one time owner/driver forâŚMammoth Transport who suddenly accrued vehicles, trailers and more importantly the work to operate them all. I wonder where he got the money for that? Parallel to that was Buckfast TransferâŚsay no more!

Gazzer I always thought that was Fastbuck Transfer, Buzzer.
Is the under run bar bolted on ,a firm near here have a pile of them off cfâs that theyâve removed ,not sure how removing them and the mudgaurds stands or itâs ok at a roadside check but needed for mot ,which I seem to think a unit at one time could have normal smooth mudflaps whilst pulling a tipper but not for mot.

Yes, under run bar is bolted on. As I understand extra spray suppression, side guards, hi viz tape and rear under run have to be fitted under type approval regs but ironically do not have to be fitted for mot. Asked the examiner a couple of weeks ago and he replied remove them from trailer if want as not a requirement for mot.
Thanks to ISHIFT5 for the pic
Right then Iâm guessing this is a load of sugar cane but not sure whatâs going on.

You cant get much nearer the present than this.Gridlock in the village of DELPH Saddleworth yesterday 15/12/14.This is not the 1st time this has happened, the people who own the corner house must be getting a bit peed of now I would think.

Itâs tight at the best of times in Delph. But youâve got to question his judgement, I reckon if heâd turned right instead of left he only had 300 yards to go, turn round at the A62 and come back through the village IF he absolutely had to. A bit of inexperience on show there.
those posts on the pavement did`nt do him any favours, although I am sure we have all done some thing similar or maybe not as bad, fredm
Dont know where he was going to because once round he wouldânt get over the bridge just past the shops unless he was going to deliver at the co-op then he would struggle again to turn around for getting out of the village
Like GOM says he should have gone right in the 1st place but then again he shouldnt be coming down that road from grains bar because of the weight limit.
