I reckon it’s a “General” made by the General Omnibus Company in London. They were the operators of the London buses as well as the manufacturers and were the forerunners of London Transport.

London General Omnibus Company - L.G.O.C. - formed the Associated Equipment Company Limited on Thursday,13th June,1912,to manufacture
omnibuses for the L.G.O.C.,hence the famous AEC commercial vehicle marque was born ,and gave rise to the famous and proud slogan:-
AEC Builders of London’s Omnibuses. But also,AEC soon became a general manufacturer of lorries, trolleybuses, buses, motorcoaches, engines, etc, and
supplied passenger carrying motor vehicles to other operators of buses and motorcoaches.
As from Saturday,1st July,1933,the London Passenger Transport Board came in to being and took over all road and rail transport operations of the former London Underground, including L.G.O.C.,and the London Transport name appeared on buses, trams, trolleybuses, etc. AEC itself became an
independent company, but continued to be the main supplier of buses, motorcoaches, etc,to London Transport right up until the late 1960s at least.
The omnibus in Oiltreader’s photograph is an AEC NS Type Nulli Secundus Double Decker Omnibus,XD 4804?,although the K and S-Type’s were similar in appearance. The photograph dates from at least October 1925,since they started fitting roofs to double decker buses in London from that time.

That Chieftain was originally a Barnsley Brewery dray and at one time beautifully restored by Albion guru Andy Gibbs in original livery. The present owner has changed the livery, no problem, it’s his property to do as he likes, but that’s a Pilot cab that had the unusual one-piece windscreen, what a pity somebody has decided it looks better with a two piece!

Thanks to Leyland600 and whisperingsmith for the pics
