Loading Fred’s wagon for the return journey with among other things boxes of Calvert’s Tooth Powder. the second pic, I’m guessing is at Fred’s digs.
Oilyedit another one I missed
, Fred leaving Manchester
Hi Eddie, love the 2nd pic of as you say probably his digs! There are obviously many advantages to sleeper-cabs & motorways etc etc, but it was no wonder that men did the same runs on regular trunk for many many years, to start at a regular time, have good/regular stopping points with the old Transport Cafés on your route, then go to your digs & sleep in a proper bed & get up & have a decent hot meal before you take over for another night, with a chat with other drivers/Land-Lady etc so you felt like a member of the human race .
In addition to the immaculate Emmanuel Vella transport fleet on Malta , is the yellow & blue of White Bros.
I was kindly allowed into their premises to take many photos.
Here is a photograph showing en E.R,F, unit ; an M.A.N. unit ; and a Volvo F7 rigid fitted with front and rear
container handling mechanism.
Cheers , cattle wagon man.
Love the random thematic approach to this thread. Here are a couple of pics of a lorry I operated on Euro work. I set it up for Middle-East work, as I had done M/E with this unit before I bought it, but in the end I just ran it on southern Europe work. It was a good truck with 420 14-litre Iveco motor and Eaton Twin-splitter.
Two for One
on this photograph. Leaving the Malta to Gozo ferry , a couple of years ago.
Theres the former demonstrator from E.R.F., -still showing the
setting the standards` logo .
The ex-British fuel tanker semi trailer is also being recycled for further use abroad.
Cheers , cattle wagon man.
Thanks to robert1952, kevmac47 and cattle wagon man, a fine selection

Am sure he said he owned a Mack in the past and he was in one of the magazines years ago but was thinking it was with one of his DAFs
