I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s parked up in this heat so thought I’d pass on my tip for keeping cool. If spaying yourself with a mist from a plant sprayer doesn’t quite do it for you try air from the air duster. Really works. Q those posh forkers with an aircon unit on the roof [emoji57]
Should look like this

I’m parked up in full sun on a concrete apron. It’s fairly warm! No air con pod, but a cold near beer is going down well.Unfortunately had to park up windscreen to the sun too!
I’ve got one of them windscreen sunshades, put that in,close curtains helps keep heat of sun out, and open front grill.

Really works.Don’t want to come across all mother hen mate, but in my mech eng apprenticeship we were regularly warned of the dangers of compressed air getting into cuts etc,…and the daddy of them all shoving a compressed air hose up someone’s arse for a laugh…not suggesting you’re into that as a pastime btw
If I could make a suggestion about parking up in this heat, do what I do, avoid [zb] lay bys msa.s and other such boring crap holes, park somewhere decent,.and find a nice beer garden within walking distance…(aka getting some enjoyment and social life out of the job .

What are you, some kind of madman?!
That’s down to opinion, but I prefer to look at it as fully enlightened.

I’ve kept thinking about buying one of them and not getting around to it. I daren’t do it now for fear of cancelling the rest of summer!!!

Very similar to what I did, went to Dunelm, bought a set of 90" drop thermal door curtains, and got them stiched onto a set of standard cab curtains, O and added frilly bits. Loads cheaper and better quality than some of the so called professional made truck curtains.
Im just laying here starkers. If there’s any peeping toms in Hamilton be careful where you cast your eyes

Managed to find a shaded spot and closed curtains over screen and a nice breeze has picked up [emoji16]
Also glad I’ve got this to keep my food and drinks cold [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

I find a Borat mankini helps [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I suppose it’s what you’re used to. When I was doing the hot countries the temperature might dip down as low as 43 deg C some summer nights, and the mozzies were ready to eat you alive - unless you were wearing a mankini, of course, because that would have terrified even the boldest of malarial maulers!

I bought a rechargeable mini fan , little 4" thing charges off a phone charger ,it was a godsend when doing Europe a couple of years ago . Was about £6 off Ebay. Now it gets used most nights at home as my meds leave me very warm at night . It is almost silent when running .

What a bunch of jessies. 30℃ Pah!
Seriously though, I agree with Robroy. I was also taught about airlines. Sticking the nozzle too close can cause an air embolism and lead to death, still, you wouldn’t be worried about the heat any more… unless you were being cremated.
In Mallorca with Aircon in the room and about to indulge in some coitus so shove your airdusters up your chuffer.
Im back on the game next week though so may just shove my airduster under the duvet for experimental purposes.
On my last job in the UK I had a Scania doing shows and exhibitions, motor sports and county shows etc, some times were would be in hotels but at the county shows I slept in the bunk, it was very hot most shows as they were almost all from May to September, never had A/C in that Scania, I left the roof and windows open all night and slept fine. since coming here and having a truck with A/C running constantly through day and night and in previous trucks when the A/C went wrong, I wonder how I coped ?
nowadays its aircon on constantly and if no roof pod, then in this weather its just engine running all night and leave it on.
back in the good old days of no power steering and no heater where men were men and women were grateful, then i did 4 saudi trips back to back followed by about ten years dodging around europe.
the best thing then was to keep a couple of seagulls that you would catch on the ferry on the way out in the cab and if you felt like a wee breeze then just give them a belt with a stick…

To be fair North American summers are in a different league in terms of duration and temperatures.Let alone when combined with the humidity of the eastern states which is like living in a sauna even in NY and just gets silly further south.

There’s the problem in your first line DD. “Aircon on all day”.
If you’re sat in a virtual igloo all day what will happen when the engine and aircon is turned off?
Using aircon to take the edge off of a summer day is fine, but trying to turn a nice day into a cold day ain’t clever.
Roof pod and aircon on mine not been used in anger so far this year. Barely got above 30 so not too warm so far. I have changed out of the longjohns into lighter weight clothing and my woolie jumper has been removed now.
