Parking restriction Wetherby- A petition

ajt:
In general: Folk moan about truckers leaving mess which is correct but if they actually provided some bins around the country AND (key point) emptied them where they do then there wouldn’t be half as much litter! - it works both ways.

NO you take your litter home, end of

Is the new parking restriction anything to do with the motorway services near the town, and they have some influence with the Council to persuade them to paint yellow lines ?
They would know there is free parking, but want you to pay for theirs.
When they ban parking on the estate,Moto will get more trade.
Strensham and Michael Wood objected to the new Gloucester services as they knew it would be popular with better food.

You know that, I know that,… it’s the other dirty socially inept ■■■■■■■■ that need to grasp it.
I think what he meant was if the bins were there at least these guys would have no excuse.

As for your other posts about parking elsewhere  , I think we realized the general concept thanks, but some of us would rather continue to use the existing facilities …that was the whole point of the thread :bulb: :bulb: . :unamused: but hey thanks for the input.

They may get extra trade but probably unlikely to push the lining as i don’t think truckers are the MSA’s best customers and they aren’t as easy on the parking area as cars.

All the Nimbys have been objecting to Gloucester for years even against Westmorland moving in.

Same at the proposed site in Sheffield, Same at Catherine de Barnes S/E of Birmingham and other places this country is full of mitherpots  Cobham took years of planning and objections to get where it is today.

Gloucester had to sunk low in to the ground so the Nimbies could not see it from a long way away, the grass on the roof of the garage and main building is not there for decoration, it is camouflage for the Nimbies that assumed an ugly monster of a building would appear there.
I can quarantee the Nimbies use the services to be nosey.

What is a N I M B I E S ?

Had a bit of a root round Gloucester
Seems like the old days of MSA’s, Yokels booking in for Sunday Lunch on the NB. There’s also a much nicer kids play area on the SB.

Your boss plans runs so you can pick up or drop off at planned times so why not plan parking as well.

You don’t actually drive commercially do you?

Actually, thinking about it, maybe you do. For a supermarket no doubt.

Up to last summer I drove for 15 years only 2 of them for a supermarket.

That’s about me now you tell me why they couldn’t plan parking

So during that 15 years, how many times did your boss organise your overnight parking away from base?

but banning from there simply moves the issue to another place, it doesn’t cure the problem.
Agreed some drivers are their own worst enemies but for every dirty scrote, there will be a dozen clean decent guys who need somewhere to park.

you park else where do what you got to do and job done as you have always done,

So you do that until that closed or trucks are banned and then to the next place and the next place, until we’re all trying to get into a few service areas and truckstops spread about geographically and full to the gunnels.

I only did nights out for 8 years and that was for 1 company, I delivered to water companies all over the country and had keys to park at any site most had toilets, showers and a mess room if I couldn’t make it to a site parking was paid with food. I was never asked to park or expected to park in a layby, if I had a hours driving left but was at a site with parking nothing would be said if you parked up.
As I have put in another thread drivers get treated terrible most of the time by the firms they are working for the office staff wouldn’t put up with it so why should drivers.

Just signed up and donated tenner, How can we promote dkmcrae.com who are doing a survey North Liverpool Seaforth dock container terminal. Situation there is chronic and is gonna get worse very shortly when super ships arrive at the new deep sea dock. 6 hour waiting is not unusal and will get worse. Ive been in there and NO facilities for drivers, unless your face fits!!!

The transport stops or all the drivers start converging on housing estates or anywhere they are stick it which means more places get torn up and ruined so the cycle never stops.

Any news on the petition, any luck?

Felt good signing that … Good luck with it guys …

Signed
