oww that hurt

Go own up who else has done the classic,
falling over by missing the bottom step when exiting the cab■■?

I have joined the club today ,managed to rip the knee in my trousers ,but the irony of it was getting laughed at by a load of squaddies as I was delivering to an army camp

Guilty…more than once :sunglasses:

why is there always people around when it happens??

ever seen someone fall from a renault magnum?? :open_mouth:

Yip guilty ,
Also god knows many times i whacked my right knee off the door strap of the 4 serries scania ! :imp:

hehe try watchin someone fall from a kenworth, if you exit them properly you have to come out backwards, then grab the two rails and side step a good 2 foot to your left, then climb down a vertical ladder, seen a very large bloke do it one day, didnt seem to bother him, kinda looked like it happened all the time

Done it in a Merc Megaspace where there are 4 steps not the usual 3. Get down to 3 then let go forgetting the bottom step!

Ragged the skin off my shins many a time!

Jumped off the trailer once in the wood thinkin the ground was flat, ish.
Landed one foot in a hole and sprained my anxle,
Nearly fainted with the pain

When I drive the 7.5 tonner at work i have the opposite problem, the ground comes one step before I’m expecting it!

i fell out the cab straight on me arse put me back out 4 weeks on sick couldnt walk for the first 3 days

Yep, fell when exiting the cab … that’s easy; fell when climbing into the cab … that hurts even more.

Fell off the back of the unit after coupling the air lines … knee swelled up like a balloon.

And just this week fell off the trailer. Landed okay but the sight of me trying to stay on made a few laugh.

Nice to see I haven’t lost the art of making myself look a complete plonker!

After breaking down with my very first wagon (well nearly, it was a Commer Bantam Karrier :unamused: ) I got a lift in a Mk 1 Atki and was so enthralled by this mythical beast that when he stopped to let me out I caught my foot under the seat and fell out of the door ending up hanging upside down with my head a few inches above the ground. The driver had to get out and take my weight by my shoulders 'till I wriggled free before landing in a crumpled heap on the pavement.
Still, gave the good citizens of Bottesford a little to brighten their day. :unamused:

Climbing out of the cab of DAF 3300, missed the top step, started to go backwards reached out to grab the handles either side of the door frame, missed those to…straight on my backside in the dirt!! Stood up as you do pretending that I always get out of a truck like that  …looked around to find a spanish TV crew peeing themselves laughing and the camera pointing at me!!

Think i probably ended up on a spanish version of that Jeremy Beadle show!!

Did the same thing again in another foriegn field, this time landing on an up turned iron stake that was sticking out of the ground :open_mouth:
The only thing that stopped it going through me and me do an impression of a large donner kebab was my bullett proof vest.

Ended up in a French Foriegn Legion field hospital, with a broken rib, where they dry shaved my chest with a blunt disposable razor and wrapped me up in a 4 inch wide sticky bandage!

The pain of falling on that iron stake was nothing compared to taking that bandage off a few days later :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Bump my head nearly every day. Always got a scab on my baldy heed. Must learn to lift the decks higher before I try to tie the cars down. Ironic thing is, I have a bump cap in the cab!!

I’ve stepped down from second step into a pot hole lost my balance must have took ten steps backwards before I finally landed on my ■■■
Then had to walk into a booking office full of drivers

Was it just me or did everybody else clobber their knee off the bottom door hinge every time they rushed gettin into a 4 series

lmao quality guys, made me laugh

I once slipped off the back of a trailer when I was just about to jump off of it anyway, and landed in such a way that my head was next to the rear light cluster. I made it look like I had intended to land there by inspecting the lights.

It must have looked so obvious and pathetic.

And I’ve sraped my shins rushing up into the cab many a time, sometimes just dangling while holding onto the handles.

As the driver of a Volvo FM I seem to have a hight problem - usually crack my head on passenger door mirrors when walking past cab or concuss myself getting in, especially if someone left the sun visor down

Anyway, wont be doing that for a while as I’m off with a crushed leg. Some of that steel’s really heavy, and someone (else) should’ve been a lot more careful.

I missed the top step into the cab and landed my shin on the edge, could hardly walk for about an hour. was my second day lol
