Ok, have you ever been caught out on an unfamiliar road by corner that tightens up or one just over a crest? You know the type when you say that was a bit fast or that was lucky, I doubt every driver hasn’t had one of those moments.
no,never…slow in ,fast out is the way to go
It’s impossible to get a quote wrong if you do it correctly!!
Then you are the exception that proves the rule.
I wouldn’t like to bet any money that you’ll get through your driving career still proving the rule.
I nearly rolled a wagon once on a roundabout after a car shot across my front to dive for an exit and I had to tighten my line to miss him, not all roll over accidents are due to idiotic driving !!

i disagree.
you did what a decent driver should do. you didn’t roll it. what you did is your job as a professional.

i would like to bet as much as you like that i don`t tip my truck over on a roundabout

like i say…never
Yeah I know you’ve already answered that question, you’ve still made the mistake of not answering the other question!
ok then, yes i would bet money that i go through my driving career without making a mistake as stupid as the example in this thread.
dont get me wrong iv
e had the odd knock, but rolling over on a roundabout is just plain cretinous…as is stuffing it under a low bridge
it`s a good job i drive better than i quote eh
…what do you do best, drive or quote

Given the choice of batting the car or hoying the unit round to miss it, I’d go for hitting the car.
Then again, it’s my job to stand artics back up when they’ve gone over, so I see a fair few of them on their sides
In that first link, I see Bell Truck Services of Beverly’s Scania 144G, fitted with NRC sliding recovery gear.
Spotter or what■■?
Just instinct took over, at the time I was not experienced either, given the same situation now and with experience on my side things might well be different, only after the event you realise how close you came, I had the trailer about a foot in the air and it scared the hell out of me at the time lol.
yes it is impossible to throw one over…if driven correctly.
that depends on your definition of driving correctly
I had one over, F10 + 40ft.
Approaching a cambered right bend at a reasonable speed,
(28 mph according to tacho) my front wheels hit a patch of ice and the vehicle then failed to turn into the bend.
As the rear axle then came onto the ice, the front axle cleared the ice and regained traction, this meant that the trailer/back axle was travelling straight forward , whilst the unit/front axle was now turning sharp right.(imagine it as beginning to jacknife)
Then as the rear axle regained traction and started to turn the bend all the momentum of the trailer was still travelling in a straight line over the king pin …over she went.
The only possible fault attributed to me was failing to be aware of the ice patch, which the police claimed was a well known problem on that particular bend (not to me it wasn’t).

yes i would call that a tad unlucky, but its not the same as going over on a r/b coz your going too fast. i was once approaching the first r/b on the a50 east bound at uttoxeter when some ■■■■ decided he was gonna overtake me on the run up,the nob jockey then straight lined the r/b clipping the inner curb with his trailer wheels which bounced about 2 feet up in the air.....how the div did
nt go over ill never know. this is the kind of driving i
m condemming…absolutley ■■■■ poor, and should be taken off the road if you ask me.
another one on the m1 this afternoon.
im on my way to work in the car trying to join the motorway...there are 2 artics in lane 1 so i match the speed of the first one and filter in behind him, meanwhile,■■■■ ■■■■ in artic 2 decides to close the gap so that when i do join he is about 6 foot off my arse end....this driver may be brilliant at reversing and everything else, but the simple fact remains he has the wrong attitude to be at the wheel of any vehicle, never mind a hgv. and i tell you something else,if he
d have hit me and when we`d stopped i thought i could beat him,i would have smash the stupid ■■■■■■■ brains in
yes i would call that a tad unlucky, but it`s not the same as going over on a r/b coz your going too fast
at this stage we don’t know that the driver of the overturned truck WAS going too fast, give him the benfit of doubt until we do know

Is that a pun, or have you lay a truck down too?
Yes, I know what you mean, but it’s still good wording
