I’m so glad I work a family run firm. All this tip toeing around for DHL and big blue chip company’s for over speeds and about a million other board room run bollox.
I let her go every single day to the conditions of my surroundings.

I don’t work for a small family firm anymore. But I don’t tip toe around either. Certainly don’t get hung up on overspeed!
I got told the other day that 3 Overspeeds you get a £60 fine through the door fae VOSA. This is just what i got told so dont shout at me for saying what i was told lol.
If the Highway Code says its 60mph limit for a HGV on a motorway then we should be alowed overspeeds upto 59mph!!!
I’ve just gone along with the suggestions here and don’t bother clearing them til I get where I going now. Much simpler and less aggro.

Cant see how the Vostapo can give you a fine, when, as you have already stated, 60mph is in the Highway Code, and is also still on the UK statute book.

Why, if the limit is 60mph, did the first wave of limiters get set at 62.137mph?

Really? I had one of the early ones on a G reg ERF and that was most definitely set at 56mph.

They dont fine you for overspeeds, i know this through experience.
I was told that unless you were involved in an accident, and it was used to back up a suspicion that you’d been tooling along, tachograph records cannot be used to convict someone for speeding.
My last 2 wagon speedos have been miles off. Both at 90 kmh cruise, old one would only do 54, 55 at a push, new one will do 57, maybe 58, both tachos sit at 90 on the readout.
The first lot of limiters got set to 60mph, if you got it done by a decent bloke, he would add on the percentage which would be 100kmh/62mph.
It was a horrible feeling on the motorway, pulling out to overtake someone and only being able to do 60mph!
You could cruise at 100kmh with no problems.
Then a few yrs later on they got set to 56mph/90kmh.
