So today I had about 3 hours to spare, tipping at Tosco, Chesterfield, 14.30, we all know it’s no good getting to any Tosco too early, so I Bimbled into Northbound Tibshelf around 11.30, POA for an hour & a 45min Break to clear my tacho. Not giving it another thought, I just banged it back on POA after my 45 & carried on watching Iplayer, then it clicked [emoji53], I’d been there over 2 hours (all in all about 2 hours 20 minutes) I shot out of there like Greased Lightning from Grease, went & did the drop, then returned south on the M1.
On my way down through the roadworks I thought that I’d pop into the southbound services & own up to my Heinous Crime, the nice ‘Person’ behind WH Smiths counter just put my reg into the machine & ‘Cancelled’ it. Lucky Me. (Thanks Nice ‘Person’ )
Let’s hope that the ticket hadn’t already been produced (or do the Leeches give you a few hours to pay, before the Workhouse Foreman is sent to fetch you in, to serve your punishment)

That’s Tosco for you, there’s a sign outside this particular one, basically saying ‘■■■■ Off until your booking time, oh & by the way, the neighbours don’t want you either so don’t park on the industrial estate’.
They do however kindly offer some parking advice- J29 Truckstop, about 10 miles south through the Congested Roadwork Nightmare M1.

The two hour rule is ridiculous especially when you are trying to get a solid 3 our break during the day you end up having to take it somewhere wit no facilities, this is something the RHA and all those other trade organisations who allegedly are for drivers should be campaigning to get it change to 3 hours but they won’t be to busy on the lash with all of the hauliers subs.

rha and fta are not for the drivers, there the trade bodies for the operators
If your number plate were to become “Obstructed”, say a carrier bag blew over it as you were exiting the services, you would hear nothing of it as the scamera wouldn’t read your plate… Although Woodall isn’t a good idea as you couldn’t stop to remove the offending item due to there being no hard shoulder on the slip.

Why there is a reason for having it at three hours due to tacho laws so is easily justified no legal reason for it to be 4
Spot on, for all those that want the time extending where will the trucks that need a break go when your hogging the bays because “Tosco” don’t want
you to wait in their yard. We already know MSA’s are “landlocked” so cannot expand or justify it.

I think all road haulage should be free within Britain to bring down the cost of everything. Not sure how to pay for the staff and equipment/vehicles but I’m trying to work on the same logic
In fact I’m right peed off i paid for a medical this week i should have got it free
