Anyone see the latest Outback Truckers programme the other night?
Big respect to the old fella driving the Kenworth roadtrain to some community out in the middle of nowhere, trip supposed to take him 8 days, ended up taking him 45 days, trailers getting bogged down, had to keep on splitting it to pull trailers out of the mud, driving across fast flowing rivers, wading through mud & ■■■■■ to change a tyre!! True Trucking Old School hero i think!!
Blimey i’ll never moan about waiting 2/3 hours to tip ever again!!

Quite agree with you, certainly puts the M25 ,M62 ect into perspective, you have got to admire a man like that, the best of it is that he isnt a one trip pony he doses that every day! I at times think im having a bad day on the plant job but hell i,m out in the sticks at times but he,s in the middle of nowhere (presuming he,s on his own most of the time) something goes wrong he,s well in the crap (soon brake a leg fall ill ,get bitten by a ruddy snake ) . Watching the program it seems the ruddy weather seems to alter every other hour, maybe someone out there who,s more knowledgeable than i am can tell us if its a true representation of what its like out there, either way top marks to the man.
What a guy.
I really hope that with the money from the programme he can get a new engine for his truck which he clearly has a complete understanding of, just like the job he does.
Yep i like to watch it when i remember it’s on
And he does it all in flip flops!!!

Think we should post him some Wellies to wear … with all them mud holes
What a hero!
All respect to the poor old chap, you can’t fault him for stamina, but I’m going to have a whip round for some PPE!
What day and channel is this on please.
It’s on quest,Wednesdays at 9pm
outback truckers is way better than the ice roads or that other load of [zb] thats on
I think he says his age is somewhere over 65!
He goes on to change wheels and pull chains through mud etc!
Tip my hat to him.
Nah, he’s 60.
cant help but think he would do better doing 3 trips every 10 days with one or two trailers rather than one every 45 days with 3. most of the times he was stuck was due to the weight and length

tow another trailer with a winch equipped D6 cat on it

Or just tow it with a D6 all the way,by the time he’s parked up for the rain for a few days, dozer would’ve ‘almost’ caught up with him!!!
T’is a good series though, would be happy just seeing the ‘owld guy’ and the heavy haulage bloke taking stuff to mines!

yes for sure seem more genuine
Just watched the last 3 and I’m now up to date.
I dare say that if the Kenworth the old guy had was ■■■■■■■ powered, he’d have never got stuck.
(Hat applied.)
Ken.
I see that the program is sponcerd by Cat and BP ,i hope the old boy is getting a few bob out of it he certainly deserves it , on another theme it certainly says something about Kenworths cos the pounding the running gear is taking dosent bare thinking about.
