Out Of Work

Well…It’s official. Got the call this morning. My van driving, European jaunts are no more…Where do I sign on? :frowning:

Good lord that depressing for you. Good luck

Sorry to hear that Vern, you won’t be the last to be receiving a P45 as a Christmas present this year.

I’m really sorry to hear that Vern - happened to me last year, it stinks.
Keep your chin up mate, and get down the Social as soon as possible. Just remember you are dealing with idiots most of the time.
Good luck.

Thanks guys…I have some fingers in some pies. Hopefully won’t be too bad. :sunglasses:

Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago just before Christmas, it,s bad enough at anytime but this time of year it,s a ball ache to say the least, I was on a real downer at that time, but found that there is always something that turns up, and even if it isn,t the job you want it,s wise to take it, because it,s true that it,s easier to find what you do want when you are actually in work, if you see what I mean, so good luck anyway.

It’s partly my fault but It’ll work out.

Bad news, sounded as if you really enjoyed the job.

oh, bugger. i know how hard it is to find decent work down here. no point me applying for a job there now. i’m even thinking about going back on the coaches.

What rotten luck mate… I hate the fact that companies feel nothing about destroying someones christmas.
I hope you find something soon.

That ■■■■■, hope you quickly find something you want to do. Good luck.

fixed that for ya.

I had 3 yrs running where I got made redundant between the week before xmas and new years eve, so know how you feel, but there’s always another job mate.

Like others have said though, get signed on straight away, don’t take any ■■■■, and if you can, use the time and the social’s money to get your dCPC like I did, least you’ve got something to show for a week or 2 off then

i’m really sorry to hear that BV. but to the 2 above posters, what do you want the company to do? come on tell me… now we don’t know the facts of this particular case, but people don’t get made redundant for the hell of it, if there’s no work then there’s no work, you can only wash a van that’s not earning any money so many times. or if they’ve found a way to be more efficient and that means getting rid of a driver or 2, but the company remains competitive thus securing other jobs. wouldn’t you do the same if you signed the cheques? yes it’s ■■■■ but welcome to the real world.

Thanks for all the positive remarks. It wasn’t wholly the companies fault either. It was a mutual understanding. Differences of opinion were the key factor. So I’m on the mooch again. Was a handy job, the constant on call was a pain in the ■■■. So back in the mix once more. :unamused:

Good luck on finding something else mate
