Out Of Work

Sorry to hear your out of work Vern, I’ll be joining you on the dole queue soon as am about to jack my euro courier work in as sick to death of it.

You’ll regret spending all that time in the queue when you get to the end and they tell you to jog on. If you choose to quit your job because you’re “sick to death of it” don’t expect people who aren’t work shy to pay for your life.

Probably wrong choice of words from me, Though I’m far from workshy. I usually average about 60+ Hours a week most of that away from home and its causing no end of problems at home so will be looking at a more local job. though my problem is mainly inconsistent hours 1 week I’ll work 7 days the next I’ll work 1 day.

This sort of thing happen 365 days of the year, it’s just nobody brings up the time of year when it happens in the second week of June.

Not necessarily 365 days a year, redundancies are normally made as businesses approach “Quarter Days”

In British and Irish tradition, the quarter days were the four dates in each year on which servants were hired, and rents were due. They fell on four religious festivals roughly three months apart and close to the two solstices and two equinoxes.
The significance of quarter days is now limited, although leasehold payments and rents for business premises in England are often still due on the old English quarter days.

As businesses approach this month’s Quarter Day, many will be unable to pay the rent due for the next quarter.

I meant people losing or leaving jobs for whatever reason. This one doesn’t seem to be a redundancy.

Yes, that’s true. Vern tantalised us when he said

It’s partly my fault

but I was too polite to ask him to expand on that.

Yep…You’re right. This wasn’t a redundancy issue. Although cutbacks were mentioned. Just a difference of opinion on a private matter was the issue. Family comes first etc…
