Our profession getting a slagging

They’ve locked it.

Does that signal defeat?

Funny how it was locked by a Moderator who seems to take delight in giving it out but struggle when the shoe is on the other foot. The guy is a dope, he really has no concept of road safety, and by the looks of things he has been looking at this site, so no doubt will be reading this, I would take great delight in looking out for his blue landcruiser on the M40 heading soutbound from J13, maybe we could all teach him some proper manners (safely of course).

I like reading those Honest John posts, Rob K put a good story on about overtaking last year.

However having just got home tonight during the week for a change :stuck_out_tongue: I have just come from Rotherham and as I joined the M18 a prestons of potto lad let me out  I dropped back and let him back in and followed him down past Woodhall, As I passed the exit to J29, I moved over to let some nob driving a shiny Frank Hudson 8 wheeler come out. I sat in the middle lane with a truck behind me, while this hudson truck got up to my 90km and sat there with his indicator on trying to force me out into the third lane and pass the Prestons driver.

Eventually as we approached J28 / A38 the prestons lad backed off and let me in slowing the hudsons truck to let me in. I was prepared to go down to the next junction to get off the motorway but the Preston lad had realised what was happening. Thanks Mr Preston

No wonder we get a bad press, but in the eyes of a car driver the one at fault would be me.

Thats 4 threads they have now locked, they have a real problem with open and honest discussion unless it is coming from a mod on that site.

I’ve seen your comments and I’ve made a few myself. I’m doing well, within hours of joining the thread was locked. They’re just a bunch of ostrichs  :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

   Ostritches bury their heads in the sand. Mark (Rabid Landcruising Bull S[zb]) has his firmly planted in his anul cavity. I wonder if he’d care to join the debate or maybe that’s not worthy of a reply?      Wouldn’t think so without his moderator status to wipe out and close when it gets too hot. :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Makes you realise what a free site TN is, at least you can pretty much say what you want and voice your own ideas without too much fear of a Mod deleting or locking threads. I quite liked the way even other memenbers on the site were backing us up about the one sidedness of Mark the great, and then dave the dynamic deleted the comments…incredible…cant believe people can be that self absorbed. That site is run by the 4 mods for them, no one elses oppinion or ideas count…long live TN where free and fair debate is encouraged not deleted. :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

to be fair, some drivers do pull out too on a vehicle in the middle lane but it is not always inconsiderate. i have misjudged the speed of the vehicle in front of me before and had to either slam on the anchors or pull out. there is also the fact that hills can have a serious impact on our wagons whether uphill or downhill and sometimes we do get stuck in the middle lane

on the other hand, there are some prats driving trucks and i wonder how they were blessed with such a career

i always obey the golden rule of trucking. LOOK AHEAD. i watch everything as far ahead as i can see so i dont get caught out and i dont have to slam my brakes on and take a car up my arse. if i am about to overtake, i watch the vehicle that i am about to pass to see if he/she is likely to want out. it they are closing on a truck, i will ease off and let them out. why? there will be cars behind me waiting for me to vacate the middle lane and the last thing they will do is allow ANOTHER truck out in front of them.

we have to watch out for each other on the roads

what he proberly thought was just another forenigner but he was put in his place.

them comments got my back up so i put a reply as lorry driver and then it got locked i was just warming up

If it was the case where this truck held up a queue of traffic for 8 miles trying to overtake…hes a complete idiot…but we see it time and time again…i often have to de-crease my speed to allow them to pul back in…even when they know they cannot possibly get past the truck in front…they still have to try…idiots…theres not much that upsets me on the road these days…but one thing that does infuriate me is the drivers coming down the slip road to join the motorway…and honestly believe that its their right of way…and go mad on the horn when you force them to brake hard…not being able to see that my middle lane is full of traffic…or at least fast approaching traffic…then we have the idiot truckers…who when we pull over to enable them to maintain momentum…stay on the inside lane accellerating at the same speed as you are…so either i have to drop back to avoid a very large queue building behind me…or say sod em all…and stay there…thats not my way of driving profesionally…but why do they not appreciate you giving way and drop speed by a couple of clicks an hour…just annoys me really and makes me feel like not giving way on the next slip road…

truckboy.I do at present most of my driveing here in germany, and i all
ways thought that the traffic comeing on to the motorway had to give way
to traffic on this road–oh no this is not correct as one lorry driver found out in court, you have to allow the traffic room to come on to the motorway or you are also charged under german traffic law as haveing
some of the blame for the accident, SO it looks like a catch22 situation
what ever you do you are to blame,

I was’nt going to mention this because it seemed a little too timely to be credible, particularly as we had been discussing the subject here, but!

Today at 13.15 north bound M1 approaching the J24a northbound slip in characteristically slow moving traffic 15-20mph. ECM car transporter, loaded with new Toymotors comes off the A50 slip to join M1, up the slip on the limiter, for those that don’t know it its a long lazy bend, saw him coming so held back and left a gap, this guy does not slow but races up to the end of the slip and brakes heavily, drops into the space tight up the back of the artic in front of me, indicating right all the way, then immediately pulls into lane 2 and accelerates, trailer wagging accross the lane as the momentum of changing lanes takes over and he is struggling with the wheel to correct it.

And we wonder why Joe public has the impression he does. :unamused:

have recently commented on other threads, that I would be in favour of taking a car driver out with me for the day just to give them an insight. I also made a comment in regard to my son just passed his test and knew nothing about the behaviour of an artic.

Having read the rantings of the intellectually challenged car drivers, I really don’t wish to log on to there site and post a comment, so i hope they will come over to us.

Car accident. Several weeks ago, I came off the M1 at J18 South bound (Crick) to go to DIRFT (I’m driving an artic fully laden and check weighed after the accident at 37t) For those of you who know the exit, you have to go right at the roundabout and under the motorway. You then approach the dual carriageway which has white chevron lane separation so that traffic coming off the M1 that has been travelling north can use the inside lane without slowing. This means I can only use the outside lane.

Of course the BMW behind me does not realise this, and tries to overtake me whilst I still have my left hand bend and am blind on my off side. I don’t see him until I start to straighten out, and by then its too late… I can’t move over to the inside because there are two cars parallel to me having just come off the M1 north side.

Result BMW hits my rear axle of three, and runs up my secondaxle and first before going into the central reservation.

On asking the BMW driver why did he does that, his comment was and I quote
“I thought you were going into the left hand land” I pointed out the chevron marks which he had not seen because he was that close to my back end before beginning his manouvre.

Moral of the story… Yes we have the odd idiot and so do they…

i have just popped back in there for a look and my reply was deleted. that mod obviously did not like my comment about the people who ponce around towns in off road vehicles and have never driven cross country

The biggest moron was the mod Mark who is obviously so self absorbed he cannot accept anybody else’s opinion.

I would lay money that he parks in disabled bays at his supermarket

If anybody dis-agrees with him instead of debate he resorts directly to insults
