We do possibly 50 trailer changes a week… You will always see my drivers parked in Calais having time off waiting for trailers as the hanging meat has to go straight through… Every abattoir I load from has stand trailers. In an ideal world I would love to keep same driver with the same trailer but it is not possible with my work. For example… I send a trailer from UK to Monaco Non stop every week. Trailer change in Calais & Lyon. The trailer goes from load point to delivery point in 24hrs when it should take 3 shifts !!

20yrs ago you could have done that with one unit and 1 driver :grimacing:

5 years ago, & I could name you some companies that still do. I personally wouldn’t want to risk it now, too much at risk. Fun while it lasted tho, if only I had 750 horses under my right foot back then

i wish  i was doing it in an iveco :open_mouth: 340 eurotech  heaven when i got a 450 (i think) eurostar lol 2 runs to germany in a week

The only thing I would say about the trailers, is they’d look better with the same style livery as the units. Other than that they’re good

I dread to think what one done in that stunning metallic blue would be, let alone a black amber /blue/red stream edition!!

Even I think I did

Doesn’t Scania sell over 50% of the high horsepower motors in Europe? This is based on the number of V8’s I saw in Italy, I hear in Ireland V8’s are everywhere. In my Country, Uganda companies that do serious heavy haulage also go for Scania V8’s though here in East Africa the most common rating is R500. Also, Brand new Mercedes 480Hp trucks are V8 I wonder why?

4 years after this post we have now sold this awesome truck. Best of luck to the new owner…

Is it policy to change them after 5 years ?

Usually yes… Around about 5 years…

What you replacing it with ? was the residual value what you expected?

Have you rang Luke V yet

Could I “buy” a new big cabbed 460hp Renault TSeries/MAN TGX or Stralis Highway for similar money the new owner paid for that 4yr old top spec Scania?

Maybe even some change left over!!![emoji56]

Sure I read Ray White buys Volvo! Having read WhiteWhiteWhite pro Scania posts the Volvo’s must be feekin’ good…

jesus - why don’t you just ask ray to post his accounts on here some of you want to know so much info from him.

if it really bothers some of you that much its not hard to find.

6mpg-best of luck with that

When you have got 15 other trucks on 10 mpg and 15 other trucks working hard to compensate for it, it doesn’t matter too much. Ray has worked his ■■■■■■■■ off for 35 years in transport so why can’t he drive something like this ■■?

:sunglasses: spot on thats why he is the boss let him have some fun

Err think u misread. He’s sold one of the big ones!there is no question to answer, vehicle is sold.
